It shouldn't be surprising, and moderate dems shouldn't be defending him. Reverse the comments, make it come from, say, Rick Scott, and the outrage would be epic.

I see how my wording might have been confusing.

when I said moderate dems "shouldn't" be defending him, the usage of "shouldn't" wasn't in the admonishing meaning of the word, but in the predictive meaning, as in "I don't believe they'll be defending him" Either way, re-reading it now, i definitely see how my poor syntax was confusing.


my comment was less about that and more directed at the OP's insinuation that this one guy's comment invalidates the general ideology of tolerance from the democrats.
