I'm surprised at Fox. This isn't the type of show I'd expect them to air, especially on a Sunday evening. I'll definitely be watching! 1/31/2014 9:39:57 AM |

Fox probably realized they need something to fill the sunday night football slot.
As big as Planet Earth was a few years back, they probably figured they could pull the same type of audience. 2/1/2014 10:21:56 AM |

I just realized this comes on at the same time as True Detective, The Walking Dead, and Shameless, and my DVR only records 3 things at a time 3/3/2014 8:25:35 PM |

i think you don't understand what boycott means.
7:00pm is where shows on sunday go to die. It's not that I can't watch bob's burgers then, it just means that Fox is basically giving up on it for more seth macfarlane crap.
also i hate seth macfarlane and all his damn shows that are all the damn same. 3/10/2014 6:25:45 PM |

yeah, given that one of the aims of the show is to increase interest in science from the masses, I don't fault them too much for it when 25% of Americans believe the sun orbits around the earth.3/12/2014 9:56:31 AM |

i watched the first couple episodes of the original series last night. Carl Sagan mentioned life on other planets at least a dozen times. I'm relieved that NDT didn't really mention it 3/12/2014 3:07:56 PM |

It could be that we know more about whether life could possibly exist on the planets we've been able to observe and it seems less likely now than it did 30 years ago. 3/12/2014 7:04:22 PM |

Well they threw this in today, and really pushed evolution. Almost laughing as Id have bet had this not been filmed weeks ago, this was in response to the one fox station blocking half the references last week.3/16/2014 10:38:26 PM |

Great episode last night! Really interesting stuff. I'm continually surprised that this is airing on FOX considering how NDT blatantly said that evolution was scientific fact -- I'm sure that pissed off a lot of people. They did a really good job of presenting the evidence though. Also, my niece and nephews liked all the dogs it showed 3/17/2014 10:32:58 AM |

Patrick Stewart voices William Herschel in the next episode
I have thoroughly enjoyed this series so far. I showed the first episode to my astronomy class one day after a test.
I especially enjoyed learning a little bit more of the back story between Halley and Newton. I knew that Halley essentially bankrolled a part of Newton's research, but I was intrigued by the way the drama was portrayed in the series. (embellished or not) 3/30/2014 12:01:57 AM |

i mean... it IS the outermost planet.
even as a kid i thought pluto was an odd outlier and it makes complete sense to classify it as something besides one of the main planets. (of course classification is a man-made system so it's completely up to us what we call things... makes no difference to those things what we call them.) 3/30/2014 9:47:27 PM |
