my guess is that as a rule, racist black people do not merely hate white Americans, but hate white Europeans too (when they chance to come into contact with them.)

I while back I worked with an 84 year old black lady who was the nicest person ever. I used to ask her questions and pick her brain all the time because it's a valuable resource to get first hand accounts on big events of the last century instead of reading it in a textbook.

She talked about the riots in our county during segregation and how the politics were back then. She also said the one thing that doesn't get reported is that black people were just as racist back then too. Wanted to make sure that I knew it went both ways everybody was guilty of ignorance.

I thought that was such a refreshing take on how it really was during those days and very profound given her ethnicity. I can only imagine how easy it would have been to give into the mob mentality and blindly hate, especially after slavery.

You realize that Africa is a continent made up of many distinct areas, countries, tribes, regions, etc.... and not one uniform conglomerate, right?

Just an assumption here, but I think black (and other minorities) are more pissed about the treatment they received since slavery ended than the actual slavery. A lot of black people I've met over the years immigrated to the US after slavery ended, but still get the same shit end of the stick.

And everyone's racists to some extent, whether they are some rich white republican tea bagger, or a hippy liberal activists. They all make judgements, big or small, based on race. The difference is, since slavery ended, the rule makers and enforcers have always been rich white guys, so they tend to skew the treatment of citizens in their favor.

Same could be said for white people. It's like wondering why New Yorkers and Mississippians don't get along, or Irish and English. Sure they're skin color is all the same, but that's not a prerequisite to being BFFs.

Hell, look within Africa. Every year there's a new country where one ethnicity is raping, torturing and murdering another, yet they all have the same skin color.

Maybe I could elaborate on my first post a bit. It makes little sense to speak of "Africans" as a group, because it insinuates a bond, tie, kinship, or relationship that most likely doesnt exist.
It starts making even less sense when you consider distinctions aren't always drawn across color lines. Historically, there have also been distinctions based on religion, language, region, belief, etc...
