Looking for a noise canceling headphone set (active) that can also be used as a bluetooth headset at work (connect to ip phone and has either a built in or attachable microphone option).

Prefer something where the mic is not a permanent extension from the headset, but can be a removable extension (or built in and not visible).

Any ideas?

I use this: http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Wireless-Headset-Tablets-Smartphones/dp/B005GTNZUM/ref=cm_cr-mr-title

the mic is noise canceling, but the headphones are not-- not sure if you need that on both.

It works with both bluetooth and RF (mini usb RF adapter stores in one of the earpieces). Haven't tried BT with the IP phone mostly because I hate all things bluetooth if there's any other option.

just for shits and giggles, decided to connect it to my IP phone for a staff meeting. BT actually sync'ed pretty easily, minus the normal BT audio quality hollowness.

Really ... they all have built in microphones?

I want the active noise canceling option like the nice ones for air travel ... with a quality mic option so that I can use it for conf calls with reliability

Hoping that Bose/Sennheiser make a quality product. Not sure about Logitech

Anyone have these?

Most of the ones with blutooth do, as it's a two-way protocol, and it would be a waste not to include the $1 microphone capsule and a $.50 in extra circuitry. Add it to the fact that most people use Bluetooth with phones that also play music, and yeah, why not make it a headset?

If you're gonna spend that much, take a look at Parrot Zik. You can get a re-packaged pair for 250. They are pretty baller, although a bit on the heavy side.

Keep in mind that active noise cancellation in on-the-ear headphone mostly meant for background noise such as engine noise, A/C hum, etc. It's not so effective at blocking a coworker who is on a speakerphone all day long. The only way to block those type of sounds is to get in-ear heaphones that literally plug your ears, or some of the heavier over-the-ear headphones.

Headphones at a bit like shoes and clothing, best way to know which one you like the best is to go an try a bunch of them out. Good thing is, every big box electronic stores (hell, even Target) has a designated headphone section nowadays where you can try them for yourself.
