You need a basic strategy.
You want to keep open slots next to the 2s and 4s.

you also want to build in the corners. i try to keep my biggest squares in the bottom or top right corner and work around them.

it took a while but i've gotten the hang of it - pick one direction and never use that one - only use 3 directions

try to keep your max # in a corner as well where possible

There's definitely a rhythm to it. I've beat it several times since my first.

But it got so in my head that, any time I see two things, I think about smooshing them together. When I look in the mirror, I imagine my eyes smooshing into a nose and then pushing my two noses together, and then I dunno what makes more eyes or where they're supposed to come from.

My nearly fool proof strategy is to keep almost all my moves left/right/up, I try to keep "filtering" up as much as possible and to keep this top row at the top, without having to press down.

If I can merge pieces left/right, or up, i always merge up. Seems to work really well.
