it was so weird. one morning about 2 weeks ago, i rebooted the computer and everything in the startup that wasn't 64 bit didn't run.

i didn't have the time to go through manually and save stuff and reinstall, and I still needed basic computer stuff. luckily, i had virtualbox x64 installed, and it ran, so I installed XP on a little virtual drive for all my internet stuff.

unfortunately, i didn't have an extra hard drive around for when I reinstalled win7 and 8, so i lost the corrupt copy.

has anyone ever seen such a thing? i couldn't figure out if it was malware or corrupted system files or what (but all my system files checked out)... and it wasn't hardware, cause everything works fine.

just thought i'd ask you guys, there is no one talking about having had this problem on the forums out there, and i'd really like to avoid ending up in that situation again. I'd have been fucked if I didn't have that vbox already installed.
