Tom Cruise is a joke, especially now, however in his defense he has done some really good movies and acting. Mostly his earlier stuff.

"Born on the 4th of July" was excellent and depressing as hell.
"A Few Good Men"
"Rainman"
"Collateral"
"Risky Business"
hell even "Last Samurai" was pretty good.

How is Tom Cruise a joke? He's easily the greatest action film actor of all time. It's not like he's Adam Sandler, just taking dumps all over comedy films. He's dropping movies that are still make ass-tons of money and are usually very entertaining.

I don't know what the competition was like that year, but he was awesome in A Few Good Men. Scratch that...that was a bad year to go for an Oscar:

Al Pacino – Scent of a Woman (winner)
Robert Downey, Jr. – Chaplin
Clint Eastwood – Unforgiven
Stephen Rea – The Crying Game
Denzel Washington – Malcolm X

Al Pacino was fucking phenomenal in that movie.

I didn't realize that not a single clone warrior in Attack of the Clones was real. They didn't even make a suit. Every one of them was created by a computer.

Harrison Ford hasn't won an Oscar. Turturro has always been an outstanding supporting actor. as well as John Goodman, and neither have nabbed an Oscar.
