I think he's probably pretty genuine about his religion and faith (just an assumption). Sure, it's a little annoying, but it's not like he's Tebowing on the field. Christian athletes are allowed to have gold watches. He always been pretty humble.

If they're trying their best to live like Christ, they wouldn't be playing football. Or going to college. Or wearing pants and shoes. Or marrying (supposedly). Russel seems to be very involved in charities. It's not like he's wearing tons of jewelry or is tatted-up. (I'm pretty anti-christian, i'm just saying that Russel genuinely seems like a decent guy, from everything I've seen and heard. Big deal if he has a gold watch.).
