Yup, some Americans think Ukraine is in... mainland USA! (about half a million adults in the US ) (plus another million think it is where Alaska is )

And in India, Alaska, Canada, Saudi Arabia, China, England, Japan, Madagascar, pretty much in every country in the world

And mind you, those people on the beach were college educated Northerners. Imagine the reporter went to the South of the country....

This is somewhat of a half truth. The other industrialized countries that you are referring to are for the most part socialists, and education is spread fairly evenly amongst the blue collar and white collar social classes. In America, however, everything is driven by the dollar so that there is a larger gap in education between the different social classes, relative to the "other industrialized countries".
