I finally watched the season premier last night. I loved the tracking device sequence. That was brilliant

My feeling here is that they have completely dropped the Sandpiper storyline so that they can go full-on Mike Montage Mode. These scenes are so well done because the editing and pace is slow and annoying but the payoff is soooo goooood.

ending to episode five had one of the best courtroom scenes that I've ever seen.

Kim is fucked after this episode,As is Chuck. I bet Jimmy escapes due to his compelling argument that he would have done anything, including lying, to make Chuck feel better.

Why is Kim fucked? I guess because future clients wouldn't want to be associated with her due to Jimmy's actions? I could see Jimmy turning into Saul after hating himself so much for ruining her life.

It didnt look like she knew what Jimmy was caught saying, that he was basically word for word saying that he "did it for her". I can see the board giving both of them a suspension. Or at least an investigation into the matter resulting in her loosing her client.

This was well hinted at with her awkward smile with them.

I don't know how technically accurate this show is in portraying the legality of a home recording, but having said that, I can understand why they are basically useless in a courtroom without having a corroborating third party.

just binge watched all of them and caught up

there was a lawyer on reddit who responded, basically the rules they cite are real but don't apply in this situation. also the tape wouldn't have been allowed even if they did apply.

I like this much better than BB. It is much more realistic and there is less distracting girlfriend drama.

I can't remember the last time I was so invested in every episode of a TV show. IT Probably goes back to when 24 was good when I was a soph at State.

Someone jog my memory -- when Gus poisoned all those cartel guys in Breaking Bad, is that what messed up Hector so much that he was in a wheelchair and couldn't talk? It seems like all this stuff is leading up to Mike/Nacho/Gus taking him out somehow, but I can't remember if BB already showed it.

I thought that a stroke was just assumed or tossed around as a joke. Either way, we don't know what triggered his current state, and honestly I always thought that it had something to do with Gus.

A stroke may just be a case of Gus paying off/threatening the doctor who diagnosed him.

I thought the whole thing with Nacho hiding the pill that fell on the floor was a foreshadow to him (Hector) not having as many pills as he thought in a future scene, or something, causing him to need to wheelchair

^^ From that same scene, I took it as Nacho planning on potentially spiking one of the pills so that Hector has a reaction.

After everything that Jimmy sacrificed and went through for Kim to keep her big client, it is beyond hypocritical that she can't cut him some slack and spot him for a year. It is just a year suspension, and that is by no means a long time to live on a tight budget. But yet, she just sits around and observes as if she was never even involved in the first place.

There are endless possibilities available that she could pursue to help him out. She could even hire him as an assistant during this process, and with as much talent as Jimmy has, she would probably be getting one of the best assistants in town.

Although I love this series so far, it is a bit disappointing that they are going down a similar path with Kim that they did with Skylar in Breaking Bad.

That was after it was clear that she wasn't helping. Her entire stance was to just dissolve everything that they tried to build together, and so he is forced to put on a show that he can hold his own because if he doesn't then she wants out.

I can't imagine the pain of going through life from your perspective

She put her professional reputation on the line compromised her morals and ethics to defend him and now she has to financially support him too? I mean its not like he is going hungry, he just can't keep the office he wants.

And hire him as an assistant? She just finished saying she doesn't need one. Besides is paperwork Jimmy's strong suit?

it has nothing to do about my perspective, it has to do with the facts from this reality as we know them.

The fact is that she has her big client because of what he did for her, and he lost his license for a year because of events resulting from that.

Her saying "well, time to close the shop, good luck" is fairly hypocritical. Like I said, there are ton of options here.

It was well done but way more complicated than it needed to be.

Don Hector, although he is a total boss, is still an old man, and with the place getting that hot he is going to be drinking a ton of water to cool down. Since we already know that Nacho has a lot of business to do on these days, we can assume that the Don will eventually use the bathroom. Since we know that Nacho is not worried about cameras or witnesses, it would seem like the best and most obvious way to make the switch would be when Don goes to relieve himself.

It seems that there is a scheduled time when nacho collects money and Don sits behind him observing. He may not use the restroom during this time.

Nacho is almost like a bodyguard for him too. A man that powerful in the drug industry is prob the target of a lot of assassinations so its plausible that he'd have Nacho at least stand in the bathroom near him, or he'd be smart enough not to leave something like his pills out in the open where someone that he doesn't trust could get to them.

Mike's plan to plant cocaine on the Don's truck was both dramatic as fuck and brilliant. But that elaborate scheme for a bottle of pills in an old man's jacket, on a hot desert day... when the AC is off? Not to mention, this is the same universe where big man Huell can plant and switch objects in and out of any jacket pocket that he wants.

So, pardon me if I go out and criticize your favorite show. I hope that it didn't hurt your feelings. I just thought they were intentionally going for intensity and might have overdone it a bit, pushing it to the point where it is not realistic.

^Not discounting Mike's cocaine plant but there is a big difference there. Mike is a professional who has been doing this kind of stuff for years. And worst case scenario, those guys would have seen him and he could probably have taken them out with minimal effort.

Nacho on the other hand clearly isn't skilled with sleight of hand or pick pocketing. If Don Hector had seen him or even been suspicious, Nacho would not have been able to talk his way out of it. The likely scenario if caught would have been that Hector would have tortured Nacho to death after doing the same thing to his dad right in front of him. That's what made it intense.

Yeah but in reality, Mike's plan was probably the best plan for that scenario. That is was made it cool to me, it was something that I could relate to.

Nacho's plan was so complicated, when in all likelihood he could have made the switch at an easier time or hired a pickpocket (which is exactly what Saul did) to do it. I mean, who in the fuck keeps a leather jacket by them at all times on a hot summer day (in the desert mind you) when the AC does not work? I know of nobody that would do that.

This is a classic example of the script dictating what the characters should do.
