Every time I go there I see more an more personal drama and stuff. Just saw a connection of a connection post about losing his wife to cancer. Why would you think this is the appropriate venue to display that information?

Don't forget the best feature - creating a skill to endorse someone for (through the fill-in-the-blank option in the skills section)
After typing in the field for endorsement, simply endorse a person for that field.



I cannot tell you how many of my peers I have endorsed for "Deep Penetration"

I have a Linkedin. Don't know much about it. I have barely done anything with my profile on there. I don't think, and maybe I'm mistaken, it's particularly widely used in my field.

LinkedIn is worthless unless you want a new job, I got plenty of interviews from it and I would use it as my main job search tool if I was looking now. So much easier to stand out when a recruiter can just look at your profile vs sending a resume to the black hole that is an online application. Of course it helps if you have skills that are in demand but I found getting connected with the right people for jobs/companies I was interested in was incredibly easy with it.

I also did not know about this posting feature and haven't seen anyone posting personal stuff. Don't know why you would, seems like an odd place to even think about that.

I get at least 2 recruiters a month wanting to talk to me and a lot of job openings.

I keep my connections low.

i deleted my account. I don't need recruiters trying to hire me for shitty contract jobs I have no interest in or in some cases no qualifications for.
