Uncertain about job market, but determining whether the quality of life is better in the Sunshine State or the Tarhole State. Any advice would be great.
Pros to Raleigh: Chill environment, awesome place, somewhat easy to find a job, nice weather, good nightlife, lower cost of living Cons to Raleigh: No ocean, not a tourist hot spot, not so strong on the fam connections as the closest ones are mostly in Virginia
Pick one:
A - Leave Florida and come back to Raleigh B - Stay in FL and just visit Raleigh 8/17/2014 1:05:46 AM |

Where in Florida? There are great cities in Florida, and there are horrendous cities. 8/17/2014 1:49:59 AM |

Where in Florida?
What's your current employment situation?
What's your potential employment situation in Raleigh?
Is there a +1 involved in this decision?

My honest opinion as someone who lived in Tampa and Raleigh:
- I made more in Tampa. If you work in IT, the market is good here. For other fields, it stinks. I made considerably less in Raleigh than in previous stops in VA and FL (I work in HR).
- I miss the sun in FL. I miss it being 60 in December. I miss the people being more laid back. I lived in Temple Terrace, in North Tampa, btw. I'd like to live in downtown St Pete.
- If you live in Jacksonville, disregard all of this and get your ass to Raleigh. Or Tampa. Or Smithfield. Or a garbage can. 8/18/2014 9:51:09 AM |

I'm currently near Charlotte and am about to move back to Raleigh.
We were debating if we should stay or go and we went to visit friends and it just felt like home, so I'd visit and see how it feels. 8/18/2014 9:55:48 AM |

All depends on where it is in Florida. If its Southern florida then it should be an easy decision to stay, if its central florida (orlando tampa) its about even and should be determined by where you will make more money and if its northern florida then you should bolt to raleigh asap. 8/19/2014 11:39:02 AM |
