Best image I could find.

I saw them used a lot in Spain - the idea is you see how far you can hold the pourer thing away from your face and chug without spilling. I've also seen it in a tapas bar in Asheville.

I think these would be fun to have at the house and am trying to figure out what they're called.

It's called a porron, which you would have learned in seconds if you had Googled "Spanish wine glass."

If you get one, post results and feedback on your experience cleaning it.

I'd imagine salt and cold water and then shaking it with the cork in would do the trick. Kind of similar to cleaning other glassware without the chemicals..

FroshKiller has it right. We had a couple of those at a Spanish wine bar I use to work at. We (and I think most people) used it to pour Txakoli, which is kind of an effervescent wine which needs to be consumed fresh (hence the use for the porron, which is suppose to keep wines fresh (much more than a normal decanter).

We also used it a lot when we got drunk and just passed it around. Its fun to drink out of. When the bar closed down, I made sure to get one for the house. It only gets broken out a couple times a year...mostly during parties. You clean it by rinsing with soap and water...it's not that difficult.
