The newly announced McDonalds phone with an expected Q4 release date will allow users to order at a drive through without even speaking. It will however not feature any apps, alarm clock, or even a calculator.....

The introductory price will be $499.

I like how the Fire phone's marketing tried to make it sound great when it was like "EXCLUSIVELY through AT&T"

Yeah, because that sounds so much better than "Available on all major carriers"

why would i wish? i have no stake in the mobile OS war

i was clearly joking given the intent of the thread, but it's also naive to think windows is a major competitor...they're not: http://wmpoweruser.com/windows-phone-hits-its-highest-us-market-share-in-2-years-with-more-than-6-million-users/

android: 51.5%
apple: 42.4%
windows: 3.6%
blackberry: 2.3%

but hey, i guess they're beating blackberry, so good on them

I had to attend a TWO full day class on this device at Verizon Wireless.....

The Q&A was hilarious.

Q) How do I setup corporate email?
A) You Cant.

Q) How do I get in the app store?
A) There is not one.

Q) How do we load the customers contacts.
A) Class is asleep halfway through the answer.

did you miss the percentage of market share that translates into? obviously, otherwise you'd realize:

US Market isn't even the most meaningful anymore. Use China if you want to see where the volume is (Win Phone aint doing great there either, but neither is the iPhone).

But in many, if not most other markets, Win Phone is hovering around 10% share and still growing. It's not a contender but it isn't at all dead.

I like my Windows Phone.

I thought the Palm Pre with webOS was pretty cool too.
