Video/youtube tutorials

Thank you for the 30 minute video that could have been 3 concise sentences.

"These [number] [thing] will make you [verb]!"

Narrowly beats out lists that have an unconventional number of items. "The top 11 libraries of Des Moines" or whatever. You know what? Just don't include the eleventh one. Make it 10. Top 10 lists are a thing.

Am I in opposite land? Youtube tutorials are the best thing on the internet. You can learn how to do just about damn near anything--especially helpful for those of us who didn't grow up being handy around the house or car.

Even as an eternal tinkerer I still go to youtube for tutorials - it's like amateur version of "How its made"... pic a topic, watch over and over till I have the hang of it.

yeah youtube tutorial videos are pretty helpful for some things.

i'm sure there are some that are some unnecessary 30 minute videos that could been summed up in a few sentences. But for a lot of stuff, actually having a video/visual demonstration is damn helpful. Specifically, I'm thinking of car stuff. I know next to nothing about mechanical stuff on cars...but on more than one occasion I've found a youtube tutorial on how to do what I'm trying to do on my exact model of vehicle. That's pretty handy.

similar to this, but when you go to youtube and search for a video on a recent event like "building falls on man but he escapes unscathed" and you click on it and its not a video of the building falling down but of some random fuckhead just TALKING about the event "yo guys its brian here i just wanted to talk to you guys about that building falling down". but they use a thumbnail of the actual video to trap you into clicking the video and increasing their views.

^^agreed. you see how stupid people really are when they can anonymously say whatever they want.

CNN did away with their comments section recently.

A list of the top-20 or top-30 or top-50 things that is listed as 20 or 30 or 50 separate webpages, so that you have to click next or use the arrow keys to see the list, instead of just seeing the whole list
