i thought pulling a clemson would be, for example, beating FSU yesterday and being in control of the division. Then losing to UNC at home next week.

I just kinda think this "Clemsoning" shit is over blown. In recent years Dabo has taken care of business for the most part. Just like how us State fans are quick to holler "NC State shit" when anything doesn't go our way...."Clemsoning" has become a punchline that really isn't particularly relevant in recent years.

^^you must have missed the 2nd and goal from the 1 yard line where the center hiked the ball 15 yards over the quarterback's head. Or the chip shot field goals they missed. Clemson could have easily won this game by 10+ points.

So to be clear. A team goes on the road to play the #1 team in the nation in a hostile environment, makes a couple of mental errors (against a FSU defense that is pretty fucking stout)...and it's "Clemsoning"? I stand by that being overblown. Because no other team has a bad kicker and sometimes makes a couple mental mistakes on the road.

I'm mean...if that's the definition of Clemsoning then, sure. I was under the impression that Clemsoning was losing to teams you shouldn't lose to. Losing to West Virginia by 70 in a bowl game. That kinda thing.

I mean, it's funny and it's unfortunate for Clemson. But, for Christ's sake...they lost in OT to the #1 team in the nation on the road. The idea that Clemson is jinxed, or can't win the big one, or whatever other narrative you wanna throw out there has kinda been disproven over the last few years.

Yes they shot themselves in the foot and should've won that game. But what happened last night wasn't really anything unique to Clemson.

Clempsoning is fucking up a game that you should easily win or should have in the bag, given the circumstances.

1st and goal from the zero and no points, by snapping the ball 10 feet over your QBs head is Clempsoning.
Fumbling the ball in field goal range with a minute left in a tie game is Clempsoning.

That you did it against the #1 team in the nation doesn't matter. You fucked it up, and you fucked it up colossally. That's Clempsoning.

I did watch the game...was actually lucky enough to be in attendance.

Clemson's D is legit this season. They did a fantastic job of keeping pressure on the FSU QB all night...he rarely had enough time in the pocket. Clemson also played a true freshman QB in his first road test (he hardly played @UGa). The fact that they didn't score more is probably partially attributed to that (as well as some play calling). Not to mention FSU's D is still pretty damn good too. I'm not saying Clemson shouldn't have won that game. I just think there's been a bastardization of this made up term. I never thought Clemsoning was equivalent to simply choking though. But oh well. Arguing about the definition of a made up word is pretty stupid though...so who really cares anyways.
