Reddit front page is getting pretty terrible too. If you can't find some active subreddits that interest you it's easy to get tired of the rehashed content and uniform comments. It's just like, the same thing every day man.
I think people are going to get tired of the internet one day. People will brag about cutting the wifi as they do about cutting the cord today. There, I said it. 9/25/2014 3:15:43 PM

^ ha you're probably right I think.
But the internet is always new to someone, so there will always be kids to post selfies, teens to argue about ayn rand, young adults to bitch about relationships, 30-somethings to complain about how boring an rehashed everything is, etc... 9/25/2014 3:24:21 PM

My other favorite thing about TWW was so many people from IRL nearby, everyone has moved away now. ![](images/cry.gif) 9/25/2014 8:25:48 PM

There are several local subreddits.
r/all and the subreddits that make up the default front page are awful. Judging reddit from the front page is like judging a city by the people you meet running through the bus terminal or airport. 9/25/2014 9:28:27 PM

My fav thing about TWW is that I've met maybe a handful of you people but I've been coming here for so long that I feel like I know most of you just from your online persona. TWW is like a family. 9/26/2014 9:15:46 AM

True, but the interwebs are changing rapidly. I think it will reach a tipping point eventually due to service provider greed, advertising, and corporate intrusion into peoples' lives.
In the early days of Adsense there was a spark of creativity as people found that they could earn legit advertising revenue by creating good content (Youtubers/bloggers/reviewers/testers) or creating niche forums such as TWW. Now, however, shitty clickbait is taking over the realm of the internet in which people share content with one another. It's professionally produced as cheaply and as quickly as possible with the obvious intention of tricking people into thinking there is going to be spectacular content when it's usually mediocre at best. I think people are going to tire of it as it becomes a bigger and more prevalent part of the internet.
The holdouts which provide real entertainment or great content with minimal advertising will be like the channels people aren't afraid to admit watching today. Think Netflix and Wikipedia akin to HBO and PBS.
The end of net neutrality would probably kickstart it. That's a war people will tire of eventually if Congress doesn't step in to offer a solution. The service providers will gladly funnel enough money to keep the war going indefinitely without such intervention.
