Don't trust robot and other fancy stuff my friends. It's totally a joke. Microsoft is smart. They avoid loss to the lowest. Robot is just a buzz word. Automation? Maybe ok but I highly doubt it. Myself is a bloody case.
Robot is only for fun, just like a toy. Don't get too serious about it.

Lol, you didn't get cut because robotics are waning, you got cut because you probably weren't that good. Robotics and automation are going to be one of the biggest fields in the next few decades.

Also, what kind of company warns you that you're getting let go in advance? I thought they wanted to tell you day of so you wouldn't just slack off and/or walk in with a firearm.

I dunno.... Most managers that I've seen who still have a small part of their soul in tact will give their employees an unofficial heads up before a layoff. It is a human being thing to do, to at least give them a chance to look for another job before their paychecks stop.

IT, coding, web/mobile app designing. Tons of jobs locally.
Too much politics is got involved in automation/robotics.

I know smart devices could be getting hotter in the near future, like smart phone, smart watch, google glasses, etc. But not as giant as a robot. It's too expensive.
