I mean, if the city truly had evidence that a church was making political speech, I can't see why it wouldn't use a more targeted investigation of the specific church or churches, and do so with federal (read: IRS) resources so as to make it clear the only intent is to address possible tax implications and violations. It should also have an idea of the specific sermons (read: the date it was given) and be able to limit requests to those specific sermons. Instead, it's doing a shotgun approach, and doing it in a manner that could clearly be construed as an attack on religious freedom and speech.

well, this seems pretty flagrantly unconstitutional

I'm kinda not even worried, for that reason...it seems only a matter of time (days) before somebody puts a stop to this

or, the preachers could just be like "Fuck no I'm not giving you my sermon." surely the law will ultimately prove they've got the right to do this.
