acc is on track to have the #2 conference rpi behind the b12. media perception may have us behind the b10 as well but yeah, the ooc hasnt been too bad so far. fsu has shit shut the bed but miami looks great and roy hasnt had to compare any losses to natural disasters yet

It never looks good for ACC teams to lose to Gardner Webb, Northeastern, and Winthrop, no matter what.

But you're right. They're the bottom feeders of the ACC this year so it really isn't a big deal.

Even though Richmond has been down post season-wise the last couple years, they're always a good team. They made the Sweet 16 a few years ago. They beat UMass and Belmont last year. They lost to both Florida and UNC by less than 10 points. Not sure why anyone would expect this to be some kind of Wolfpack blowout.

We just finished a season where we were the last team in the NCAA tournament with a lottery pick leading us. I'm shocked that anyone thinks a Gottfried team without multiple NBA players would be anything but a bubble team. If this squad turns into anything more it's going to need Anya to keep playing like Mutombo and the good Martin to be an all-ACC level player as a freshman.

Good Lord get a clue. Richmond is a quality squad. If you are expecting a 30 point win you probably should not come or watch. Jerry Palm currently has Richmond at 9th in his RPI while we are 55. KenPom has UR at 48 and us at 64. Don't kid yourself, a win tonight for us would be great.

^you can try to sneak down at halftime when there's a rush back to the seats. I've done it successfully tons of times but they don't "let you" go down to the lower level. it's easier to get in the student section if you look young than the other lower sections

I don't think anyone thinks that we are going to be really good this year, but if you're N.C. State, you do expect to beat Richmond at home.

Let's add some positivity for a change.

I really like that we have two guards now that are capable of breaking down a defense and scoring when needed. This was always Zo's biggest issue. Not to hate on the man, because he was a great distributer and rebounder for his position, but when it came to getting buckets in crunch time with a set defense, he came up a little short a lot.

I love that we have solid people coming in off of the bench now. We have been strangled 'round the neck by depth issues since Gott has been here, and it is nice to sub people in.

It is great that we have a dependable rebounding big man, and so far Anya has been a beast on defense.

Of course the biggest problem for us will likely come from low post scoring. But, in todays NCAA game, most teams would prefer to be problematic there than in the back court. So, we ain't lookin too shabby IMO.

I agree, I think we have been looking great and this team has a lot of potential. I think if we can shake the jitters and make our free throws and control the ball more tightly we could end up ranked in a few more games.

Low post offense is going to hurt us throughout the year. With that said, Richmond is seemingly a favorable match up as they're pretty small and not a good rebounding team. Just saying, I don't think this has all the makings of a 30+ point game and that's apparent by the lack of a 15 point spread.

Getting through this and Boise undefeated would be a very good start to the year.
