Career: A- (B 2012, A- 2013)

Family: A- (B+ 2012, B+ 2013) Working out of town, away from my wife still sucks. I was home for most of 2014 luckily but am traveling and will be traveling again for most of 2015

Social life/Friends: B (A- 2012, B 2013) Similar to above, traveling has really impacted this. Oddly it has impacted it in a weird way. Out of town I am going out and meeting new people more in the areas I am working but I am missing the friends I have real connections with.

Health: B+ (A 2012, A- 2013) Staying in good shape physically but it is harder to eat well on the road and my sleep hasn't been as good working away from home.

Money: A (A- 2012, A 2013) Banking non-taxable per diem and lots of paid OT again.

2014:

Career: A+ My first nursing job was ok and had awesome hours for a floor nurse (no weekends, no nights), but the skill opportunities were lacking. I applied for a part time job in a clinic, was actually offered full time. Started in September and I've expanded my skillset a bunch, have more responsibilities, learned a bunch in my field ( I can now start IVs on a stone if I need to). Could see myself staying here for a few years. I want to pick up another part time gig in another clinic, or possibly the ER. This job gets me closer to determining what Masters degree I want.

Love: A Got married to the boy. Had a courthouse wedding and a BBQ in the backyard. Actually put on a white wedding dress. Wore my cowboy boots, though.

Family: B- Don't talk to my sister, my parents visited a bunch this year in NC. Dad had a health scare with cancer a month ago, but they ruled it was benign. Phew.

Social/Hobbies B-: More of my friends have disappeared from career moves, popping out kids or working on their houses. I have less friends, and go out less, but I don't really care. I've been busy raising goats and chickens, training a green-broke horse, and setting up a garden and our chicken coop. I'm building a greenhouse this year.

Health B-: Focusing on my career and house projects means I drank more beer and worked out less, which for me is now 3-4x a week. I was diagnosed with deltoid bursitis and a rotator cuff tear, so that also slowed me down. I've joined Crossfit and the Y, and want to try stepping up my bike commuting game.

Money A+: We bought a house, so have been paying the mortgage off ahead of schedule. I'm beefing up my savings too. I have more than enough money to be comfortable and pay for hobbies.
I want to get at least 6 months' mortgage into an account, and start saving for a new roof.

For me, I will give 2014 a 9

I would describe it as a combative year.
Quote of 2014 ? Sun Tzu, The Art of War
“Victorious warriors win first and then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win”

Career: A

Family/Love:
Family: A. I see them often and have a great relationship with them. Very blessed.

Love: A. Happy. Never had someone stick with me as much as she did. She saved my career and my livelihood and my future.

Social life/Friends: A
I like everyone I know, but too much of my time is being demanded.

Health: A.

Money: C
Second time in my life that I ever made less money in a year than I made in the previous year.
(Made much less money in 2011 than I made in 2010).
(Made much more in 2012 than 2011).
(Made much much more in 2013 than 2012).
(Made less in 2014 than 2013).
Also coincidentally most money every spent in a single year. Also took the biggest financial gambles this year.
I would call this an extremely volatile year full of combat and victory.

Did not escape unscathed, but the year ranks very high (9/10) mostly due to loss mitigation on multiple fronts. I look at failure to lose as massive victory in some circumstances.
