Quote : | "In families of police officers, domestic violence is two-to-four times more likely than in the general population — from stalking and harassment to sexual assault and even homicide. As the National Center for Women and Policing notes, two studies have found that at least 40% of police officer families experience domestic violence, in contrast to 10% of families in the general population. " |
And they cover for each other, in order to avoid any prosecution, let alone punishment.
Quote : | ""Cops 'typically handle cases of police family violence informally, often without an official report, investigation, or even check of the victim's safety,'" the Atlantic's Conor Friedersdorf writes, quoting a study from the National Center for Women and Policing. "'Even officers who are found guilty of domestic violence are unlikely to be fired, arrested or referred for prosecution.'"" |

Dept of Justice Press Release 12/22/14
Quote : | "The officers convicted of the RICO conspiracy admitted to being members of a criminal organization that sought to enrich its members through a pattern of illegal conduct. Over the course of the conspiracy, the officers worked together to conduct traffic stops and enter homes or buildings used by persons suspected of being engaged in criminal activity to steal money, property and narcotics. The officers also planted evidence to make false arrests, and then extorted money in exchange for their victims’ release from custody. In exchange for bribe payments, the officers gave false testimony, manipulated court records and failed to appear in court when required so that cases would be dismissed. Additionally, the officers sold and distributed wholesale quantities of narcotics. " |
Also the website address itself is pretty self-explanatory too:

Complete bullshit
per federal law since 1970-something, a dv conviction means you can never own a firearm, bullet, etc. (including misdemeanor dv conviction)
good luck being a cop if you can never touch a gun again
fact: 100% of cops with dv conviction of any kind are fired due to no longer having a use on the force (can't carry a gun ever again)
Did Rolling Stone fact-check this article or something?12/22/2014 11:34:53 PM |

^^ the stoning-apologist underwear-sniffer's post deals with that point. The majority of them aren't prosecuted for their crimes.
He however does not deal with the fact that the police in his country of Pakistan are wayyyyyyyyyy more fucked up than ours, which is pretty hard to wrap your head around.

I can't really find any evidence to confirm the 40% number. There were some studies done in the early 90s, but nothing since then to corroborate this. 12/23/2014 9:20:56 AM |

http://www.complex.com/pop-culture/2014/12/florida-cop-pulls-over-harvard-graduate-for-playing-fck-tha-police
pulls over law student at red light for playing loud music within 25 feet of another person... law student tells him the law was struck down, citing the case.
makes up some more bullshit that the law student strikes down with the quickness.
so gives him tickets for made-up offenses that the law student did not commit.
what an awesome cop, protecting and and defending the common man! 12/26/2014 4:26:49 AM |

Facts not in evidence.
Cops are probably no better than the average person, and quite likely worse in most cases given the way that power corrupts.
Take the guys who made mostly C's in high school, give him a badge and a gun, surround him with a bunch of like minded folks, pump them full of "us vs. them" and "it's a warzone out there" ideology and see what kind of people you get and attract.12/27/2014 11:45:39 AM |

Because you can't just tell the officer that there's an actual line? Are you scare of someone in a uniform? They are people too. Stop treating them like you are scared of them.
Also, if you are in line at a McDonalds for more than 30 5 minute you should go find another Fast food joint.

Who were the corrupt Baltimore police officers?
Quote : | "A jury has found two former Baltimore police detectives guilty for their role in a sprawling police corruption scandal, bringing the total number of convicted officers to eight. Who were the members of the Gun Trace Task Force (GTTF)?
When the Baltimore City Police Department created the GTTF, it was intended to be an elite squad of highly-trained officers tasked with seizing illegal guns. Instead, a trial in federal court has revealed that the officers went rogue, and used their power to steal money, drugs and guns, and terrorise the people they stopped.
In some cases, they even resold the very drugs and guns they were supposed to take off the streets." |
