Then there's the Cliven Bundy thing from this past spring. He had a freaking armed militia pointing guns at law enforcement, and the LEOs fucking backed down. And that was it. So, the gas station footage that was released is grainy as shit. There's no way to tell if that's a gun, cell phone, wallet, or what. And the cop was issued a body cam, but was not wearing it... coincidentally? I hope the other cameras' footage is better.

Ask yourself this-- given that the cops can kill you with no fear of consequences, do you think someone will really draw on them and not shoot?

If I'm a armed black male, near Ferguson, and I draw on a cop, I'm shooting him ASAP. This sounds like a case of a cop killing a black guy for standing next to a store. If there had been no crime committed, no complaints, what gives the cop the right to stop someone for just standing next to a store. "2 black men next to store, must be breaking a bunch of poverty laws, time to collect some petty fines"

For the sake of this cop, I hope there's evidence that he pulled on him. Also if a suspect is armed, pulls their weapon, do you only shoot 3 times?

You shoot however many times it takes to drop the aggressor. It will almost always be at least 2 shots. Adrenaline fueled cop that probably only gets range time once a year will probably shoot more times than necessary.

I think it's more likely that an 18 year old that never goes to the range will panic and forget to either take off the safety or chamber a round first, assuming he wasn't shooting a revolver or carrying a safety-less gun holsterless with a round in the chamber.

I used to fill up at that gas station all time since it was on the way to work. This story does not surprise me in the least. I was half scared at 8am, can't imagine 11pm. Im sure he was just getting that last bit of crime out of his system before getting his life together.
