Shit man, that's tough. Everything on both Sports and Fore is gold.

Many of you w will go with the obvious Hip to be Square, but I'm going with Heart and Soul.

It think Huey Lewis & The News did a pretty sick job when they did the Ghostbusters theme.

I've always been a fan of It's Alright and Doing it all for my Baby, but I'm a fan of his entire catalog

random story: I sent Huey some fan mail when I was like 8 years old after seeing them in concert, and he sent me back an autographed picture of the band. I still own it

was this inspired by the 25th anniversary of Back to the Future 2 and it's predictions of 2015? I watched some of the trilogy on tv yesterday.

130th Anniversary of the Era Doc Brown was allegedly sent to in the Wild West sucky-sequel Part III

I mean really....they finished the trilogy via a Western? wtf?

Hoverboards to Cowboy hats? what?

I wanted more hoverboards and less stagecoaches.

Here is the proof. This video goes from advertisements for Bugs Bunny's Thanksgiving special to Pizza Hut BTTFII Solar Shades advertisements. I also read an article last week that was from December 2014 and the author said "25 years ago at this time Back to the Future II was filling theaters."

^^ Those Google quick hits get a lot of things wrong.

For example, it lists Jason Molina's birthday as December 16th, when it's actually December 30th.

There is no doubt that the movies continued to get worse as the trilogy went along and it was time for it to end, but I like how the whole story played out. I think it was great that they went across a lot of different time periods. Now what would be really cool is if they would make a special edition of Back to the Future II in 2016 and actually add some things in there that were real. When Star Wars was rereleased in the theaters in the late 90s they used computer graphics to add small things to the scenes like that 4 legged creature standing outside of the bar in Star Wars IV and the spaceship flying into the atmosphere of that one planet.

^Sorry, but these things will be associated with each other forever. Huey Lewis had a part in the first movie, and they made two good songs for the soundtrack. You can't mention Huey Lewis without thinking about BTTF and you can't mention BTTF without thinking about Huey Lewis.

If Hollywood could get over its aversion to putting a Parkinsonian MJ Fox on the bigscreen for a remake and just suck it up and put out some kind of (Episode IV-styling as suggested above for the franchise) it would really make a lot of people happy.

Concerning the clash of the genres always being

"associated with each other forever."

Agreed. The Flea cameo in Part II, the ubiquitous and universal recognition of Biff Tannen as the classic bully...they don't make movies like they used to, and this is overdue for a remake, particularly that it is now 2015, a major milestone in the storyline.

I mean we recently saw Christopher Lloyd in Sin City, and Fox keeps showing up on The Good Wife. These guys are available, and it needs to be done.

I don't ever want to see a remake, but I would like to see an edited 2015. The News Paper has a headline about Queen Diana in it. It would be cool if they would use computer graphics and put something about President Obama in place of that and maybe have a "Free Wi-Fi" sign hanging in the background at the Café 80s.

Also, MLB has scheduled Cubs vs Miami in Chicago on July 3, 2015 (30th anniversary of BTTF). It would be great if Huey Lewis & the News would sing the national anthem at the game like they did at the World Series a few years ago, since they are such a big part of the trilogy. And yes I know they like the Giants.

^ and once again with the Lucas comparisons,

then you would create an underground market for the unedited, un-CGI interfaced film much like true Fanboys seek out the Star Wars with the original actor playing vader

you gotta stay true to the film man, but valid point and very entertaining. Really cool info about the baseball team, and yeah right on about getting Huey Lewis & the News to do the anthem.

^ I think it would be totally awesome if they would give the Marlins a limited edition uniform with the alligator logo on it and then maybe auction them off to help MJF raise money for his Parkinson's Disease foundation.

And Huey Lewis should sing "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" too, if they would do one of the Cubs vs Marlins games this season.

^ because Flea is tied to the trilogy

to truly make this epic, they should do exactly what you said and then have Flea show up and rock out with HL & the news with some epic pyrotechnics and possibly a Delorean

^ Valid point about sequels
Case in point who could forget the riveting "Honey" trilogy:

Honey, I Shrunk the Kids

Honey, I Blew up the Kid

Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves

Cinematic GOLD

[Edited on January 3, 2015 at 11:06 AM. Reason : Fact "Honey 1" grossed 222 million...in 1989. Think about it. That's like grossing 800 million today]

never seen any of the Godfather movies. Space movies are dorky as shit, thus I've never seen any of the Star Wars or Star Trek movies. Movies about elves and wizards are dorkier than space dork movies, thus I've never seen any of the LOTR movies or Hobbit or Harry Potter. I think I may have seen Lethal Weapon 2, so I'll add that to my list. Hated Kill Bill 1, so I imagine Kill Bill 2 was even shittier

the problem is who cares if they are cool or dorky. If someone enjoys a movie then so be it. seems like adults who are still obsessed with being "cool" are the real douchebags here.

Hell i don't know you and you might not be like that in real life, but that's how the statement came across to me.

it just seems that make-believe stories and fairy tales are best for kids, not adults

that's all I was getting at. but you're right, if you're in your 30s-40s and enjoy the genre, more power to ya
