Got 225x2 on bench today. Previous max was 205. Up 100 lbs since July. I'm thrilled!

haha yup! gotta eat a lot to build muscle. I'll probably cut down starting in March to be ready for beach season.

Weighed in this morning for the first time in well over a month. I was scared since last week I was back in NC eating fried seafood and Bojangles along with thanksgiving. At my recent lowest, after my PSMF diet, I was 197. I quit tracking for the most part and figured I have been gaining some weight since my strength has been going up. Anyways, I was hoping for under 205 and weighed in at 192

Needless to say I was pleased

hell yeah - somehow I lost weight over Thanksgiving too somehow. I think when you adhere to a strict diet (i.e. low carb or something) your body tends compensate for the deprived nutrient in other ways, so it's often good to take a break and shock your system back into normal so the diet can take effect again when you return to it. might be anecdotal but that's how it works for me at least.

It doesn't work that way physiologically but it does have an impact mentally. I probably have just conditioned myself to eat less in general after tracking for so long so even when I don't I still stay at or under maintenance.

And to add to ^^, ^ I recently read that in a calorie deficit, the body will retain water due to stress hormones.

For the past three weeks I've been working on getting my deadlift back on track since I injured my back last December. Got 300x1 yesterday (after warm up sets) so I'm happy with that. Also got 235x1 on bench. We don't have a squat rack at my work gym but I'm petitioning them to get something in there. Would like to have 1000lbs combined on bench, deads, and squat by July.

Ice cream is a ploy to get close to you. You know....so that I can spread those buttcheeks of yours.

Bought another 300lb Olympic weight set & several pairs of hex dumbbells (15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 55 lbs) for $280 a few days ago---740 lbs total = less than 40 cents/lb! Hoping to flip that weight set with a bench/squat stand I don't need and get a solid flat and/or adjustable commercial bench.
