So it seems that having a 3D printer in the garage is the new cool tool to have and now that prices are becoming affordable it seems to be popular as well. Anyway, I don't personally have a 3D printer in my garage but I do have one at work. In fact we just got a CubePro 3. This thread will be here to for discussion and questions.

So far I've been able to build one small part from PLA material. I'm having all kinds of problems though with ABS. Even though the CP3 comes with a heated print bed I'm having issues with the parts warping. I've done a bit of research and found that using a ABS/Acetone mix as the adhesion layer works well. Any other tips would be helpful.

If the only warping occurs at the bed, you can design in a sacrificial layer that will be removed later via sander.

So I was able to resolve the issue by not using PLA as the support material. Using ABS only, the chamber heats up as well as the print bed. Using PLA as support material with ABS as the part material, the chamber and bed does not heat up. Additionally I roughed up the print bed with some sand paper which seems to have helped. I'm 3 hours into my latest print with no issues so far.
