It’s a different world out there. I’m glad I get to retire in about 5 years.

https://www.vice.com/en/article/epzadj/christian-glass-shooting-clear-creek-county-colorado

He Called 911 Because His Car Was Stuck. The Cops Killed Him.

Police originally said the 22-year-old man was shot and killed while attempting to stab officers. New body-camera footage seems to show otherwise.

Quote :
"Body-camera footage shows Colorado police shot and killed a young man who had called 911 for help after getting his car stuck on a dirt road, despite him never leaving his vehicle's driver seat.

Christian Glass, 22, was killed on June 1 by a Clear Creek County Sheriff’s Office deputy during a mental health crisis, his parents said. He had called 911 after getting his SUV stuck and was hoping for assistance getting it pushed out. But over the course of the next hour, the responding officers threatened him, tased him, shot him with beanbags, and finally shot and killed him. "

Fuck yeah, Murrca, fuck yeah.

So now add "vaping while black" to things that incur the death sentence.

In other news, police in Colorado shoot a white guy for having a knife, after the guy requested that he throw the knives out, but the officers said "nah, you keep the knives in the car".

Oh and this was after the guy called 911 because he was in an accident.

https://www.wral.com/story/ex-minneapolis-officer-faces-sentencing-on-a-state-charge-for-his-role-in-george-floyds-killing/20988622/

Quote :
"At his sentencing hearing, Thao said he never intended to hurt anyone that day. He spoke at length about his growth as a Christian during his 340 days behind bars but denied any responsibility for Floyd's death. In rambling remarks full of biblical references, he drew parallels with the sufferings and false accusations endured by Job and Jesus.

“I did not commit these crimes," Thao said. "My conscience is clear. I will not be a Judas nor join a mob in self-preservation or betray my God.”"

I like how the judge was like...I wanted to see more remorse and regret, but you're coming across as preachy. Therefore....57 MONTHS!

I mean, he didn't kill him. He controlled the crowd while a meathead colleague killed him. I'm inclined to agree with him to a point, though the comparisons to Job and Jesus are a bit much. Serve some time, sure. Guilt by association? I suppose. But if he doesn't feel like he's guilty of a crime, I'm not sure it would make me feel better to have him fake remorse.
