Most people didn't think he'd get drafted at all since being an undersized OLB/DE with "average" athleticism (as far as college/pro athletes go). He probably wouldn't have except it was the 7th round so there's not really a risk. I do wonder if all the media circus praising him for being gay? put too much pressure on him. If he didn't have that outside pressure, I wonder if he would've put his nose to the grind and worked harder. If you do have that average athleticism but a great drive and motivation you can do things in the league. It seems apparent he doesn't have that.

Nobody knew who Michael Sam was before he came out outside of his school's fanbase. I watch sports at Buffalo Wild Wings and list to 99.9 the fan, so I know sports. He came out to get attention because he realized he wouldn't make it in the NFL. Jason Collins did the same thing in the NBA since his career was over.

I wasn't watching the draft. It was on a replay on Sports Center over and over.
