Spent several days there a few weeks ago and have seriously fallen in love with the city. Aside from the winters being brutal, anyone with experience have any downsides to living there? I know it's not all rainbows and butterflies and you can't really entirely judge a city by 1 vacation there, or even several.
I can work from anywhere. I keep thinking about how great it would be to be there for a while. 6/23/2015 1:12:32 PM |

One of my favorite cities in the world, but the weather is absolute shit for 7-9 months a year. 6/23/2015 1:52:21 PM |

^^troll bait?
homeless everywhere are crazy.
people in the Midwest are super friendly.
Deep dish is amazing and it's a big city, you can find NY style if you want it. Italian beef sandwiches are what I imagine Jesus eats in Heaven. The hotdogs aren't bad either.
Chicago is gorgeous, especially for a city its size and it's on basically an ocean and has a river running through it. It's planned very well also.
You have good sports teams in the Hawks and Bulls, and the Bears are competitive. Cubs games are fun win or lose and Wrigleyville is awesome.
The museums are great, the cost of living is low comparably. They have a diverse economy. It's centrally located and a major airport hub.
What's not to love about Chicago? Move there for a while if you aren't tied down. 6/23/2015 2:22:26 PM |
