I think Legal Weed will come first, especially since it will have a lot more support from within the government.

We already have legalized prostitution. It's called the porn industry.

On another note, if it were legalized, at least it could be regulated and cleaned up.

I, too, was scratching my head about the porn industry comment. Like, I guess? Sounds like an example of false equivalence.

I get why it's legal. I've always just had a raised eyebrow about it. People getting paid to have sex...seems like prostitution to me, regardless of whether it is being filmed.

But like I said, I'm not against this...no matter how hard you try to crack down on it, it is going to happen. Might as well make it safer.

It's on a county basis, not city.

There's really no good reason for it not to be legal. It's just our country's idiotic puritan roots that keep a well reasoned debate from happening.

Eventually it's going to be legal, it's just a matter of time.

I'm guessing they want it to be illegal because of all the money they make off of fines and court costs in those two towns.

It turns out there's a registry for escorts to report bad clients.

Raleigh has zero reports!

http://www.nationalblacklist.com/raleigh.aspx

Nice job, guys!

Austin, for instance, has over 1000 reported incidents, including some guy named Greg Hendrick who is a fat pig bully who smells, is 50 years-old, has a police record, and it also just says "Kentucky," which I'm not sure what that means.

Come on, Greg, everybody knows you gotta shower before your escort arrives! That's what I plan to do once I build my personal stable of male lovers.

when the SCOTUS said butt sexor was all good a few years back they said it was right to privacy issue. obviously this should extend to prostitution as well

It's pretty god damn stupid.

I love when they argue for schedule 1 their reasoning is "OMG, THERE'S NOT ENOUGH RESEARCH TO SAY IT'S SAFE!" So they make it schedule 1 and the DEA proceeds to limit the fuck out of research

And, in the case of marijuana, the NIDA has a monopoly on "research pot"

Yeah, marijuana as a schedule 1 drug is insane.

Quote :
"Schedule I drugs, substances, or chemicals are defined as drugs with no currently accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse. Schedule I drugs are the most dangerous drugs of all the drug schedules with potentially severe psychological or physical dependence."

No currently accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse. Marijuana... really?

And only the morons at the DEA think that pot has a higher potential for abuse than cocaine or meth.

It's absolutely nuts. If you haven't watched The Culture High on Netflix yet I recommend you do so. If you aren't mad and depressed while watching the first half or so then you may not be a human being.

There's absolutely no reason not to legalize prostitution. Every single objection, other than the moral ones, is either a direct result of prohibition (pimps and johns beating the women, women not making much off of the transactions, women not being able to leave, etc) or is easily fixable through regulation (STDs, low condom usage, etc).
