...in the theater for the fourth time. Bi mighta hyped this movie too much. I've had to go with everyone.

Dude, I totally will!!! I was dreading last night...even tried to pump up Straight Outta Compton, hoping we could see that instead. But, once the movie started--Mike drinking his coffee on the beach--I was all on board again.
People think I'm into the naked man parts, and that's fine, but there's so much more going on in this movie. It's about friendship, fun, perseverance, acceptance... Previous films have definitely captured that vibe but not like this...I've never seen a movie like this before.
Everyone I've seen it with is obviously into the dancing scenes, and they are good scenes or whatever...except the first person I saw it with. She and I walked out of the theater silently, listening to other people's conversations and trying to get away from them so we could have our own. Once we were out of earshot of others, I whipped out a cigarette and was like, "Holy shit, what did we just see?!?!"
I wasn't sure if she was on the same page as me, but she immediately affirmed that she was, and then we analyzed the film for two days straight.
So, if I can't make it out to Wilmington to see it with you, I still 100% recommend it times a thousand. 8/16/2015 7:25:48 PM |
