Leslie Jones was hilarious on Weekend Update, and managed to not flub a single line...and she killed it in the Harry Met Sally bit.

Turns out Miley can't act. Who knew? Her musical bits were kinda lame for me too, and I think the girl is pretty talented.

Millennials looks really fucking stupid...can't wait for them to drag it on the entire season.

Millennials needs a hook. Californians had multiple hooks: the fact that they only talk about traffic, the mirror, and Hader & Armisen constantly trying to make each other break via ridiculous line readings. Millennials just had dumb voices.

there's a way to do it and have it really work

they could have at least made a point to say that the show was written by people who are over the age of 40. maybe I missed it if they did.

Armisen always had a line about a piece of furniture specific to that type of Californian. the Millennials sketch relies too heavily on tired tropes.

I'm sure a bunch of people feel that way. I tend to prefer super-specific comedy as opposed to super-broad comedy.

the fact that it started out as an inside joke between the two of them and they then stretched it out in a few different ways is pretty rad, especially since it became a recurring sketch.

Let's see...
- Amy Schumer's monologue was recycled material. Her whole schtick about her sex life and the female body is getting old.
- That flight attendant skit was awful
- The hot for teacher skit was good
- Weekend Update had some good jokes and flowed well
- The Weekend (musical guest) did a great job despite a guest appearance by Nicki Minaj
I pretty much fell asleep after Weekend Update

Schumer always has some solid jokes...but she's famous now...she needs to know she can't recycle her big jokes like that. After the Bradley Cooper line, I was half expecting her to throw out the "catch a dick" retread. I'm 50/50 on her flaming out in 18 months.

While you always want to see new material, she's in a weird spot at the moment. Each season of her show takes a set of material, she just shot a special, and she's writing a book. None of those things can fly with retreads, so a monologue on free TV gets the short straw.

She's supposedly a world-class comedian with her first hosting of SNL...that monologue was/is going to get major air time. All she had to do was replace the Bradley Cooper joke (which I've heard three times already and I don't even follow her that much) and it would have been fine.

I hope her TV/Movie stuff does well, because the stand-up schtick is already getting old. You can only make so many "I'm a fat girl in Hollywood" and "I have a vagina" jokes.

^ I know comedians recycle bits, but they mostly recycle small bits in longer stand ups. She's recycling entire minute long jokes in 5-7 minute guest appearances.
