Make sure you cancel your subscription more than 5 days before your "official" next billing date, or they'll charge you. That's where they're getting people. ![](images/beatup.gif) 9/15/2015 2:22:34 PM

Got my box just about half an hour ago!
It is the Paris Box. Contains:
- Palais des Thes, teabags (3) - La Mere Poulard, shortbread biscuits (2 oz) - Charles Antona, fig jam (4 oz) - Henaff, pork liver confit (3 oz) - La Maison d'Armorine, chewy caramels (1 oz) - Domains des Vignes, whole mustard (7 oz) - Christian Potier, culinary sauce (2 single-serve pouches)
All brands are fancy/famous/expensive. My educated guess is that the items would cost $20 at retail prices.
I don't eat pork, don't like/use mustard, and don't care about the sauces. Glad I paid only $5!
P.S. if you want to see the items, follow the link below:
http://www.trytheworld.com/collections/france
I also added up the prices (proportional for the smaller items) and it comes to $28. I underestimated on the liver pate and the caramels. That tiny jar of the liver pate is $8.50! I did not think it would be that expensive as it is not duck or goose liver. 9/23/2015 9:02:18 PM

Just cancelled. They try three different times to try to get you to stay subscribed. Twice with a 50% off coupon and once with a coupon code. I documented everything since I read elsewhere that they "don't process" your cancellation and keep charging you. We shall see. 9/24/2015 9:44:19 AM

Thanks Obama Fhqwhgads for giving me a bad dream last night . I read your post just before sleeping. I had a dream in which I received a message from the company saying that because I had received the box so early, they were moving the date of cancellation ahead and had already charged my card because the date had been moved to today . 9/24/2015 10:37:54 AM

Received my box yesterday and cancelled. It's painless, however it doesn't seem to send you a confirmation e-mail. All it says is "the changes to your account have been made" after you cancel. I tried logging back in to see if anything changed and it wasn't clear it was cancelled so i cancelled again. Hopefully its taken care of. 9/24/2015 10:49:12 AM

Well they have a fixed box each month (or maybe every 2 months), so if you wait till next month, you might get a different one. Which one? No one knows.

What did you expect? Cooked (or fresh?) meat? Sturgeon caviar? Perhaps in the Russia box there will be 1.6 grams of caviar.

First you said the mustard jar was broken. Liver confit was broken too? OK, but how did that mess up the other stuff considering everything was sealed in plastic (biscuits, sauce), foil (tea), or glass (jam)? Only thing I can see getting messed up would be the caramels. Those biscuits are the best shortbread biscuits I have ever had, and so is the jam. You should have called them and asked them to send another one. You can still do it... did you take pics? Either way, that's a shame.

If you look at http://www.trytheworld.com/collections/france/products/christian-potiers-4-sauces-variety-pack and compare with the one you got, you can easily see it is bearnaise. At least that's the one I got. If yours is darker in color, it could be any of the other 3; again, compare the shade with the pic. Here is bearnaise: http://www.trytheworld.com/collections/france/products/bearnaise-sauce
Ingredients: Ingredients: water, unsalted butter, cream, white wine and red wine vinegars, shallot, egg yolk, tarragon, salt, modified corn starch, xanthan gum, lactic acid, rosemary extract, tarragon essential oil, ground white pepper
French haute cuisine has 5 mother sauces, one of which is Hollandaise. Bearnaise is the child of Hollandaise.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Béarnaise_sauce https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mother_sauce
Wikipedia says it is a traditional sauce for steak. I don't recall ever having it, so I don't know if it will go well with chicken or not. If you are good at food pairing, decide based on ingredients. Try it with chicken, since you have 2 sachets! Of course if you got the mushroom or peppercorn sauce, then definitely steak.
I hope this picture shows
