She'll keep promising Bernie inspired changes through the election, I think. If only to keep as much as his base as she can, but ultimately you're right none of this 'influence' will see the light of day once January 2017 rolls around.

"Forever forward
BERNIE SANDERS·TUESDAY, JULY 12, 2016
I am writing you today to express my deep pride in the movement – the political revolution – you and I have created together over the last 15 months. When we began this historic campaign, we were considered fringe players by the political, economic and media establishment. Well, we proved them wrong.
We showed that the American people support a bold, progressive agenda that takes on the billionaire class, that fights for racial, social, economic and environmental justice and that seeks to create a government that works for all of us and not just the big campaign donors.
We mobilized over 13 million voters across the country. We won 23 Democratic primary and caucus contests. We had literally hundreds of thousands of volunteers across the country. And we showed – in a way that can change politics in America forever – that you can run a competitive national grassroots campaign without begging millionaires and billionaires for campaign contributions.
Most importantly, we elevated the critical issues facing our country – issues the establishment has pushed under the rug for too long. We focused attention on the grotesque level of income and wealth inequality in this country and the importance of breaking up the large banks who brought our economy to the brink of collapse. We exposed our horrendous trade policies, our broken criminal justice system, and our people's lack of access to affordable health care and higher education. We fought aggressively to address the crisis of climate change, the need for real comprehensive immigration reform, the importance of developing a foreign policy that values diplomacy over war, and so much more.
We have shown throughout this election that these are issues that are important to voters and that progressive solutions energize people in the fight for real change. What we have accomplished so far is historic – but our work is far from over.
This movement of ours – this political revolution – must continue. We cannot let all of the momentum we have achieved in the fight to transform America be lost. We will never stop fighting for what is right.
It is true that in terms of winning the Democratic nomination, we did come up short. But this election was never about me or any candidate. It was about the powerful coming together of millions of people to take their country back from the billionaire class. That was the strength of our campaign and it will be the strength of our movement going forward in the months and years ahead.
In the coming weeks, I will be announcing the creation of successor organizations to carry on the struggle that we have been a part of these past 15 months. I hope you will continue to be involved in fighting to transform America. Our goal will be to advance the progressive agenda that we believe in and to elect like-minded candidates at the federal, state and local levels who are committed to accomplishing our goals.
In terms of the presidential election this November, there is no doubt that the election of Donald Trump as president would be a devastating blow to all that we are fighting for. His openly bigoted and pro-billionaire campaign could precipitate the same decades-long rightward shift in American politics that happened after the election of Ronald Reagan in 1980. That rightward shift after Reagan’s election infected not just politics as a whole but led to the ascendancy of the corporatist wing of the Democratic Party – an era from which we are still recovering.
I cannot in good conscience let that happen.
To have all of the work we have done in elevating our progressive ideals be dashed away by a complete Republican takeover of Washington – a takeover headed by a candidate that demonizes Latinos, Muslims, women, African Americans, veterans, and others – would be unthinkable.
Today, I endorsed Hillary Clinton to be our next president. I know that some of you will be disappointed with that decision. But I believe that, at this moment, our country, our values, and our common vision for a transformed America, are best served by the defeat of Donald Trump and the election of Hillary Clinton.
You should know that in the weeks since the last primary, both campaigns have worked together in good faith to bridge some of the policy issues that divided us during the election. Did we come to agreement on everything? Of course not. But we made important steps forward.
Hillary Clinton released a debt free college plan that we developed together which now includes free tuition at public colleges and universities for working families. This was a major part of our campaign’s agenda and a proposal that, if enacted into law, would revolutionize higher education in this country.
Secretary Clinton has also publicly committed to massive investments in health care for communities across this country that will increase primary care, including mental health care, dental care, and low-cost prescription drug access for an additional 25 million people. Importantly, she has also endorsed the enactment of a so-called public option to allow everyone in this country to participate in a public insurance program. This idea was killed by the insurance industry during consideration of President Obama’s health care program.
During the Democratic platform proceedings in St. Louis and Orlando, we were victorious in including amendments to make it a clear priority of the Democratic Party to fight for a $15 an hour federal minimum wage, expand Social Security, abolish the death penalty, put a price on carbon, establish a path toward the legalization of marijuana, enact major criminal justice reforms, pass comprehensive immigration reform, end for-profit prisons and detention facilities, break up too-big-to-fail banks and create a 21st century Glass-Steagall Act, close loopholes that allow big companies to avoid taxes by stashing their cash in offshore tax havens and use that revenue to rebuild America, approve the most expansive agenda ever for protecting Native American rights and so much more.
All of these progressive policies were at the heart of our campaign. The truth is our movement is responsible for the most progressive Democratic platform in the history of our country. All of that is the direct result of the work that our members of the platform committee did in the meetings and that you have been doing over the last 15 months.
But none of these initiatives will happen if we do not elect a Democratic president in November. None! In fact, we will go backward. We must elect the Democratic nominee in November and progressive Democrats up and down the ballot so that we ensure that these policy commitments can advance.
It is extremely important that we keep our movement together, that we hold public officials accountable and that we elect progressive candidates to office at the federal, state, and local level who will stand with us.
As part of that effort, we still have a tremendous amount of work left to do in the Democratic Rules Committee that will be meeting in the coming weeks. We have to enact the kinds of reforms to the Democratic Party and to the electoral process that will provide us the tools to elect progressive candidates, to allow new voices and new energy into the Party, and to break up the excessive power that the economic and political elites in the Party currently have. As with our fights on the platform committee, that will only be possible if we stand together.
You should know that I intend to be actively campaigning throughout this election season to elect candidates who will stand by our agenda. I hope to see many of you at events from coast to coast.
In conclusion, I again want to express my pride in what we have accomplished together over the last year. But so much more must be done to make our vision a reality. Now more than ever our country needs our movement – our political revolution. As you have throughout this historic campaign, I ask for your ongoing support as we continue through the fall and beyond.
On a personal note, I cannot say with words how appreciative Jane and I are of the kindness, dedication and love we experienced from so many people across the country. We are deeply touched by it and will never, ever forget it.
Please let me know that you will stand with me to defeat Donald Trump, and to elect candidates who will stand by our agenda as part of the future of our political revolution. Add your name now.
Forever committed, forever fighting, forever forward,
Bernie Sanders"

Yeah, maybe. But depending on current events and the state of unrest, I think she could easily lose control of the narrative. With the recent events in Dallas, Trump has already come out and declared himself as the "security candidate." I could easily see him roping her into a corner and forcing her to be "strong against crime" or some bullshit like that, which would take her off message.

I dunno, she's already got Bernie locked in, so she doesn't really have to appease the base anymore.

He'll be an effective attack dog stumping against Trump, which is all Hillary really needed from him anyway. The idea that an ineffective lawmaker with questionable liberal credentials was needed to "solidify the base" for Hillary never made any sense in the first place. When it comes to actually crafting and implementing progressive policy, no active politician has a better record that Hillary Clinton. Call her a liar, call her untrustworthy, a warhawk, or whatever sexist insults you prefer to hurl her way. The fact of the matter is she's done more for the "cause" than Bernie Sanders ever can.

Bernie is a sellout to be sure. I knew it was coming but it still sucks. The DNC couldn't be happier in co-opting activists into the status quo fold.

I hold Bernie as one of the most credible politicians of my lifetime. By credible I generally mean consistency, genuineness in intention, and few scandals, and not attracted to most of the usual, big money lobbies. That credibility wasn't built on a single, political decision and this one decision doesn't make him a sellout as many claim.

He can endorse Hillary and still criticize her decisions, he can also cheer loudly when she adopts something he supports. He may not be as forth coming with his criticisms, especially during the election, but I think there will still be room for him to discuss his opinions over the next 4 years. Elizabeth Warren, I'd say, is already showing the way on this by producing this message:

A month after endorsing Hillary.

Bernie had to endorse Hillary at this point. You don't run as a Democrat then quit when you lose. That's the risk he took. It was a calculated risk and now he's stuck. He has so much integrity that he is now sacrificing his own reputation just on that silent vow to the party. With that said, his supporters signed up for his ideas and are not stuck with him or the party we are against. We are free to let go now.

Here's what I understand about economy:

The news says "we're in a bad economy!" so people stop spending and start saving. Because people aren't spending, demand goes down and production slows. Because production has slowed, fewer people are needed to produce, and jobs are lost. Because jobs are lost, there's even less spending but this time without saving.

The news says "we're in a good economy!" so people start spending. Because people spend, production goes up and more people have jobs. But then people get stupid and spend their money on stupid shit they don't need. Then people get jealous of what others have and take out stupid loans to try to keep up with the Joneses. And then we start heading back to a bad economy.

I'm pretty comfortable with the belief that the economy isn't controlled by decisions made by our leaders (at least not beyond national debt). It's more affected by distinct shifts in our spending culture. And our economy will balance itself when our parents' generation is gone. I'm not saying I want that time to come any sooner than it has to, but because Boomers being such a large chunk of the population, there's not enough of us working to support them.

Well apparently not enough Bernie supporters are taking the bait:

E-mail from the DCCC:

"Yikes.
When Bernie Sanders called for unity yesterday, we expected Democrats to...well...unify.
But grassroots Democrats’ support just isn’t coming in.
After Bernie’s call to action, the entire world is watching to see if the Democratic Party can unite. We can’t mess this up.
I’m so sorry to beg, but I REALLY hope there’s a chance you can step up. It’s the only way Democrats can win the White House and Congress.
Will you answer Bernie’s call and chip in $1?"

Who cares? Hillary is already polling in the high 40s/low 50s nationally and in most battleground states. Trump, meanwhile, can't crack low 40s. You're not going to win the Presidency with a ceiling that low. The only thing Bernie supporters will do is turn a modest victory into a total landslide.

Bernie's biggest problem was he didn't mention fatherless families, teenage pregnancies, or high school graduation. His stance, and every other liberal stance, is “You’re an infallible victim, your personal choices do not matter, here is free shit so you are dependent on the government forever” Convicted felons should be able to vote! The law isn’t fair! Rules aren’t fair! We need free shit for everyone!

Progressive agenda addresses everything on that list. Just because you don't understand how it works, doesn't mean it's not there.

Unless you're voting for Johnson, you're a hypocritical who wants government dependency as well. Also, depending on how you define free, everyone advocates one format of free shit another.

Whatever. Bernie Sanders wants to give everyone free money and free college, so they can all go major in lesbian-art-studies, then get pissed when they don't get a job, then Bernie can give them $15 an hour for their unskilled labor as they wait tables, and continue to blame the societal scapegoats or the evil 1% that made them make bad decisions.

Money isn't fair! College should be free! Illegal aliens should get free college! Did you know they can just print off money? It's like monopoly money! Everyone should get free shit!

Naturally I need to deflect a potential accusation of racism by citing unverifiable statistics regarding the ethnicity of my acquaintances and friends. "I'm not a racist, I have a black friend, see?"

God forbid people think instead of just add regurgitated white-guilt garbage to the liberal echo chamber.

Yet minorities are "saturated" by police and involved in more searches and seizures?

Perhaps that could be because of the other crime statistics... which races do more serious drugs? Or commit more murders? More theft?

Discrimination is in the eye of the beholder, and then when it isn't there it is invented by the left.

I have the exact same rights as a mentally ill transgender person, to use the bathroom that matches my biology. That is not discrimination. Mental delusion does not grant you additional rights above that of the majority, no matter how desperately the media and gullible masses attempt to frame this into an "oppressed victim" narrative.

^It was called "Gender Identity Disorder" but the name was changed due to political pressure from liberals, as we have seen though, renaming something and playing pretend doesn't stop the suicide rates.

This same pressure from the left is causing all of these virtue signaling companies/figures to "condemn" North Carolina for not marching to the regressive left's tune.

The way this "issue" has been portrayed on social media is absolutely laughable, if you weren't familiar with the situation you would think, from the outrage of the SJWs, that NC passed a law to put victims of Gender Identity Disorder in jail (like several countries where all these virtue signaling corporations operate). Using the restroom that corresponds with your anatomy? Not if it's 2016 and I want to play Social Justice Warrior! I'm going to bully you into accepting something and if you don't I will call you a bigot!

Its called scientific research but I guess you don't believe in that and think its all some sort of "liberal, anti-god, conspiracy".

There is no such thing as gender identity disorder. You don't seem to understand that gender and sex are two different things. There are more than two genders, it can be fluid, and cannot be visually identified.

If not a disorder, what word would you use? "Experts" say it is and isn't a mental disorder. "What they're going through" seems to imply its a pretty bad ordeal regardless.

I'm not saying it is morally wrong to be born transgender, but nobody WANTS to be born one sex that identifies as the different gender, the same way nobody WANTS to be born with any disorder.

As I already stated, the definition of TRANSGENDER is a disorder. That isn't being disrespectful, it is stating fact.

Gender is a "social construct" though, they can't help it. It totally isn't a mental disorder! If you think someone thinking they are male/female and changing it isn't normal, you are a bigot! Sure doctors agreed it was a mental disorder until recently when they were pressured (for political reasons) to say it wasn't a mental disorder. Why can't you just accept people disfiguring their bodies and committing suicide years later? That is them being them, they don't need help, they just need you to accept them and their suicidal self-destructive surgical procedures.
