LOL yeah, I wanted floor tickets. Was logged in well before 10am and I was still SOL. Kept refreshing/throwing back GA seats, and everything was sold out in 45 mins.

fucking bullshit. i was on before 10, seconds counted down to zero, ticket options didn't appear. after 30 sec, F5. Wait 30 sec, some broken shit renders. F5 30 sec, more broken shit. F5 and finally ticket options appear. Select 2 floor seats and hit next, takes me to some animated progress bar made out a ticket saying it's securing my tickets and my wait time is less than 10 minutes. So while I'm waiting I try my phone and it's saying no tickets available, at like 10:05-10:10...WTF, I know that ain't true. 10 minutes later that shit is still spinning. It says don't refresh or close the window because I'll lose my place in line/my tickets. 20 minutes later same shit. Hour later it's still going. Gave up hope then but left it for another hour. Still spinning telling me to stand by 2 fucking hours later.

Fuck Ticketmaster. How the fuck can they still be a giant pile of shit after all this time.

Can ticketmaster buy tickets that it sells on behalf of teams or if that is not legal has it been investigated as to whether a shell company subsidy buys the tickets? For plenty of events/games i'm sure they can have pretty good confidence that they can sell any given seat for at least a 2x premium from what the host organization sells them for at face value.

For a lot of NFL games i've noticed that a huge % of tickets are on re-sale on the secondary market. More then what seems intuitive of someone who bought tickets deciding they can't go.

I have a thread on just this subject in the Sports Lounge. During a recent play-off game, ticket sells went live at 10:00 and were sold-out within 2 minutes. By the afternoon there were dozens of these tickets on StubHub with anywhere between a 50%-400% mark-up.

Fan club presale.

Venue presale.

American Express presale.

Premium tickets held for VIP packages.

A general public onsale sees a very small percentage of total tickets for an event. Couple that with high demand and you get no tickets available 45 seconds into a public onsale.

No worries. I'm sure StubHub will have plenty of tickets available at twice the original price!

Except this was Tool, and there weren't any presales outside of a small fan club VIP thing.

Also I'm not bitching about availability, it's about TM's customer experience being a steaming pile of shit. It's not like this was just Tool, this shit happens with every high-demand show. Check their Twitter mentions and it's off the charts.

Don't even bother trying to call in when this shit is going on too. If you're lucky, an automated message picks up for a second then hangs up on you

Pro tip: call in before the sale starts, ask about something else, and then switch just as the onsale happens. My friend does this for the Phish NYC shows every year and it never fails.
