I started watching my Back to the Future the Animated Series DVD and I realized I really miss waking up on Saturday morning and turning on the TV to watch cartoons. We didn't have cable when I was a child, but I always made sure to watch morning and after school cartoons.

So what were your favorites? I always enjoyed Captain N the Game Master, TMNT, Super Mario Brothers, Hulk Hogan's Rock N Wrestling, Reboot, Camp Candy, Muppet Babies, The Smurfs, The Get Along Gang, Gravedale High, Kid N Play, Hammerman (MC Hammer), The Berenstain Bears, and Ghostbusters.

Then after sugar cereal and cartoons came Saved By the Bell and American Gladiators just before lunch.

After school, for me it was always the Disney cartoons...Tale Spin, Duck Tales, etc.

For Saturday mornings, I was just fine with Looney Tunes, Little Rascals and Three Stooges.

Watched Fox Kids every saturday morning.

Batman: TAS, Superman, X-Men, Gargoyles were all my favorites.

In recent years I've scanned the channels on saturday mornings looking for something similar out of curiosity and there is never anything similar. All the action-adventure cartoons are on weekday afternoons now.

^That is because starting in 1990 the networks were required by federal law to show at least 3 hours of educational programming per week. That along with cable options becoming more popular pretty much destroyed Saturday/Sunday morning cartoons on network TV.

Yeah, I always loved the Disney Afternoon since I didn't have the Disney Channel. And I forgot about X-men. That was pretty good too.

And Sundays were for Fantastic Max, Midnight Patrol, and a few others that I can't think of off the top of my head.

I was blown away the other week to find South Park playing at nine in the morning on Sunday. It was slightly more heavily bleeped, but that would have been inconceivable when the show first came out.

Oh, and for Saturday mornings, I was a always a Looney Tunes man, though really what I wanted was nonstop Roadrunner/Coyote

^Looney Tunes was ok. I liked watching more modern cartoons from that time. Tiny Toon Adventures was great after school though.

I always watched Saved By The Bell and California Dreams on Saturdays in middle school.

I can't remember anything before that because I lived overseas and we only got certain programs there.

DuckTales and James Bond Jr. are actually the ones that stick out in my memory

Yep, I watched those. And all the classics like Smurfs, Snorks, Gummi Bears, Looney Tunes, and dozens of other that i can't remember.

And I always liked Super Dave. I would actually record the skit done by the actor at the end of each cartoon.
