Would depend on where he lived. Takeout Central's list of items in my are is severely limited. I prefer 919 Dine, though I do wish they had a few more choices in my area too.

Being from Western NC, Ole Time and Clyde Coopers were my first introductions to eastern NC BBQ, so each, while not great, holds a place in my heart. And I've tried dozens of places since then. Some, like Allen & Sons, I think are absolute garbage, while the critics and most people think they're amazing. I just don't see it.

^true that! most of the sides are awesome, too. I agree that the BBQ is edible, but not the best. It always comes off as a bit dry and too woody, as if they had been cooking it too long.
