Obama seems more relaxed, not looking at his notes or teleprompter really at all.

Good speech so far, seems to be getting good bipartisan applause.

I'm not the biggest Obama fan, but the man can deliver a speech. Too bad nothing will change from it

I overall I really liked the speech as a speech, and didn't find myself strongly disliking much of the actual material.

He had a couple of odd verbal slips that adversely affected delivery, and the fourth "body paragraph" about political discourse struck me as a little paternalistic. Though it would've been hard as hell to sound otherwise. Telling the American people that their behavior is childish could hardly come across otherwise, no matter how accurate it might be.

I like a speech that can occasionally get a laugh out of me -- when it's done intelligently. He had a lot of good lines in the meat of the speech that did just that, but the openers about "I know a lot of you need to get back to Iowa" kind of undermined what should be a sense of importance about the SOTU.
