I just got back from spending a couple week in the West Caribbean, and fell in love with this stuff. You can basically use it as a potato substitute.

Anyone have any idea where I can find it in the triangle? When I try to google for 'breadfruit' and 'Raleigh' in any combination, apparently there's a street called Breadfruit in Raleigh and all the results are about that.

Please help tww

that looks a lot like Jackfruit-- could breadfruit be another name for jackfruit or maybe in the same family?

Sorry that I can't help with the OP's question, but couldn't resist pointing out that bringing Breadfruit from Tahiti to the West Indies was the mission of HM Armed Vessel Bounty.

^^ 2 different fruits.

breadfruit is the world's largest tree-hanging fruit... they can pretty massive, IIRC, around 80 lbs, or wait, it is 80 kg i think.

i'd say check the Asian markets. all of your exotic fruits have a higher chance of being found there than anywhere else. if not there, you really will have to dig deeper.

^^Jackfruit is actually the biggest fruit in the world, not breadfruit. Anyway, find any ethnic Carribean market, they should have breadfruit.

After calling around to 15 different stores, I finally was able to find it at the International Foods in north Raleigh.
