If it makes you feel any better Smath, no one today gives a fuck about all the celeb nude breaches from last year. Odds are all your students have completely forgotten this non existent event and are on to whatever the latest instagram hashtag is. Willing to bet your students would rather see pics of Jennifer Lawrence than your ugly ho

i mean, i really don't think you guys are trolling me and you are legit concerned about my sanity over this. I really do hope that i'm just temporarily mental and none of this ever happened. But I've just heard so many very specific things repeated by students and actually saw myself in a picture on a students phone, it's hard for me to NOT believe it happened. These are things that students would have NO way to know except for this hacking event that some of you doubt.

The thought that kids don't have long term attention spans is comforting in either case.

So, did you recognize your dingus on some kid's cellphone? Or was it a dingus, and your bedroom that clued you in?

I'm just wondering because, I don't know if I could pick my cock out of a line-up. Especially a shot from underneath.

I'll preface by saying this is 99.5% chance that Smath needs some meds and healthcare.

But bbehe is just wrong in many of his assumptions about feasibility.

The only physical access needed is to his phone. If he, like most, didn't have a pin lock, installing one of the MANY Android RAT tools (OmniRAT, DroidJack, AndroRAT, Dendroid, among others) is a fast, simple process. Tracking location and all the rest are trivial with RAT tools.

Your Wifi router, even with WPA2 is basically trivial to break into with an off the shelf dictionary and any number of linux based sniffing and brute force hashing tools. Unless he used a randomized wifi password (which is rarely the case). Even then it likely doesn't matter, because if he was actually RATted, all the user has to do is use the compromised phone to get the wifi details.

The PC side is what has me doubting his sanity. Unless he's running XP still, the chances of the kids in his school gaining access without physical machine access in such a targeted way are really slim. There's no special hardware here, but definitely a lot more knowledge necessary that would be extremely atypical for a high school student. If it is a laptop, that he takes to school, then it's a lot more possible. Especially if he had no password or a very insecure one. Local access + L0phtCrack + a few minutes of google will get you access to pretty much any PC you have physical access to.

If they got a RAT onto the PC, screen mirroring and all the rest are also trivial and essentially undetectable. Anti-virus and anti-malware tools don't do a very good job against RAT, for a number of reasons. The biggest being that you generally need Admin/Root privileges to install them in the first place, which means the system is already compromised.

Regardless there's basically not shit Smath can do to prove it happened unless he manages to lay hands on video/photos directly on one of the kids devices. Best advice: Get a new phone and a new PC, use secure passwords, use a randomly generated wifi password with special characters and max length for wifi, and don't let them out of your site in unsecured places.

RAT doesn't give tracking via offline mode/cell signal only, at least not one that I've ever seen. And to track movement within a house? I don't believe it.

As for brute forcing, I was assuming Smath was using a password with enough entropy to make password cracking EXTREMELY unrealistic.

Like I said, my assumptions are assuming Smath didn't just leave his shit laying around, however I think he would have told us already if he did.

So you were close enough to see yourself, presumably nude, on one of your student's phones and you didn't confiscate it and take it to the correct authorities?

Thats what I was wondering if you heard students talking about this or suspected they had any information they should immediately be turned into the principal and if true should be held accountable to the full extent of the law

Gave specific names and the circumstances but "not enough concrete evidence to search a student phone"

I guess I don't really know the rules on phones, but if it came down to that the rule would quickly become no phones in my classroom and if I see one I am taking it and your parents can come recover it and while they are here we are gonna have a little chat.

Kids are always gonna be ahead of the game when it comes to technology for the most part. The easiest way to handle that or at least how I plan to is simple. As long as I am paying for your phone you will not have anything with passwords on it that I do not know. I have no plans to snoop through your phone without you being aware or without you having given me a reason to need to. However, if something comes up and I need to look at your phone and any of your passwords have been changed you lose the phone. Its a crazy world we live in today that's about the best way I can think to handle that stuff where you aren't prying into their business but they also know at anytime you can if you need to.

Okay, dad, good luck preventing Doss2k Jr. from pulling up Google Drive/Dropbox/whatever other password-secured, cloud-based file system he wants in the phone's web browser. Come on, dude. Parents and teachers can't even keep kids from chewing gum in class.

Its like you didnt even read the first sentence. Of course I am aware there are plenty of things and ways around this sorta stuff. We all grew up knowing how to trick our parents too. I also knew if my parents came into my room late at night and caught me on my local BBS service that I would lose my computer from my room and that was enough to weigh things out and not stay up all night playing LORD haha. No one thinks they are gonna be able to keep tabs on everything their kid does but not at least attempting is not the way to go either. I fully expect those things to happen, but I also want him thinking in the back of his head well what happens if they find out I am doing this stuff... maybe thats enough to keep kids partially in line at least.

kids are also regularly dumb or brazen enough to keep bad things in their regular photo library or text messages un-deleted, why not contact the parent and let them check

I dont care about porn tbh that is gonna come down to when you hose your computer because you clicked on the wrong thing and I get stuck having to fix it then it will become an issue otherwise just dont tell your mom and have at it haha.

I will do what I can with the booze problem. Contrary to what you may think not every kid drinks before they are 21. That is very situation dependent on whats going on as to how to handle that. If he wants a beer at the house Im probably not gonna care as long as he understands that having a beer in your own home and out where someone may catch you are two very different situations. I got a few years till I have to worry about either of those though. Nowadays you have to worry about digital issues way before those haha.

I might be a bit of a nerd, but there was never a point in time in my life where my parents had a better grasp on technology that I did. It has never been remotely close.

Any updates? Have you begun receiving threatening letters? Are people calling your phone and hanging up when you answer? Have you started secretly keeping track of which lights you turn on or off when you enter or leave a room because you think someone else is in your home?
