^Depends on the target. Y-Wing is the bottom of the shitheap though. Attacking capital ships or a platform, the B-Wing is beast. X-Wing for all around performance and then A-Wing, but only for anti-starfighter encounters.

I'm like way off here:


T47 speeder (I know, not in the same class of ship, still my fave tho)
Y-wing - better payload and it's got the rear guns, plus I bet the cabin is more spacious and comfortable for the longer runs
X-Wing
B-Wing - I really appreciate the creativity in design, but something irks me about something that flys that isn't balanced visually.
A-Wing - not sure why, but I just don't find them aesthetic. Just a wedge with a canopy and engines strapped to it.

^ A-Wing was specifically designed like that, seat and engines. And its described as such in multiple places. That said, its also the only fighter that can shoot backwards out of the 4.

Ywing's Ion Cannon could spin and shoot backwards, but lasers were fixed.

B-Wing was designed to replace the Y-Wing.


You also forgot E-Wing, K-Wing and V-Wing. E-Wing for me beats all, hands down. V-Wing was seen in Ep3 in the big space battle. K-Wing was a bomber, akin to Y/B-Wings, but bombing only. Not sure it even had any guns/lasers.
