Long, long, long story short:

I bought a stainless steel cabinet (with a powder coat table top) for my big green egg... we left some Off bug spray on the countertop last summer... we went to the beach and came back a week later and the heat melted some of the Off bug spray can, which leaked DEET on to the powder coating.

The fucking DEET ate through the powder coat. I was super pissed... called the manufacturer and explained the situation... they said DEET will eat through car paint.
