4) Profit! (you get the difference if lower prices found)

I have gotten back $37 in 2 years, $0.1x - 1.xx at a time, typically 30-40 cents when I have gotten back something, but more often than not, nothing.

Walmart Neighborhood Market is just a grocery store / pharmacy, not a Walmart Supercenter. They have a good layout, a clean store (so far), wide aisles, a wider selection of items than most local grocery stores, more options on generics, lower prices overall, the ability to use Savings Catcher on the app (which takes literally 5 seconds or less per visit), a co-located Murphy USA filling station, and the one I frequent is most convenient to my commuting route -- but I agree -- I should shop elsewhere to live up to some vague societal standard. If the business model works, it works.

Their money is green. Not sure about their EBT cards. I think actually a broad cross-section of society shops there, from frugal rich people who aren't too proud, to those that fall within Hillary's "basket of deplorables". Just get in, get what you need, and get out via self-checkout. No human interaction needed! The biggest problem I have is people thinking I work there when I shop after work, because I meet the two major qualifications -- khaki pants and a solid-colored collared shirt.

Where would you suggest as a viable alternative in the rural South?

Yeah, I am happy shopping at Walmart for basics, and then I go to TJ's once a month or so for treats and goodies, and i get the basics there also when I go, as it is more or less the same price as Walmart for the staples I get, with some items cheaper. I would go there all the time, but it is a bit out of the way.
