What do you have that needs to come out of your house, car, or office every day?

Most of them are too lazy to carry a shoulderbag or backpack with just their laptop. Thats all Ive ever seen in them.

I use the same backpack I used in college, mostly for all the food/drinks I eat for the day. Thermos for coffee, protein shake, lunch bag, water bottle, and occasionally some random snacks (almonds, popcorn, etc.). I used to bring my phone charger, but I now keep it at work.

Sometimes teachers have a fuck-ton of papers to grade and are too petite to carry a bag long distances.

I don't do it, but a lot of my coworkers do. It's dorky, but if you're carrying around several textbooks and huge stacks of papers, and have bad back or something, it's practical.

I carry medications with me each day and also use my backpack to hold my lunch and some electronic devices I like to have with me at work or at home. As for something wheeled versus a backpack: Back problems are more common than I used to think. Shit I moved some furniture earlier this week and I've been taking aleve each morning just to keep my muscles from spazzing out.

Part of the benefit of having some of these medications with me is I can go different places (like a friends' house) after work and still have this stuff with me in case I need it. Also handy if I take a day trip at work to visit a job site.

Also there's folks with much worse medical issues than me, I could see some types of medical equipment being heavy enough that lunking it around in a backpack just gets annoying. Stuff like an oxygen bottle or something.

Ton of people in my office use them. We don't have assigned desks and it's a completely open concept workspace. We have little cubbies we can leave stuff in but we are also allowed to work from home 2-3 days a week so most people take laptops, keyboards, headsets, etc. to and from work/home every day.

"Lazy" is a very ableist assumption to make, Master_Yoda. There are loads of people with back and shoulder injuries who can't carry a bag or backpack.
