"In retrospect I guess I'm more looking at the whole "life" of Logan, not necessarily this movie alone. He goes out on one final note of saving the kids and feeling good about that, but overall he just led an extremely miserable life and this seems a small consolation. If you compare to the characters I was referring to (Tom Joad, Luke, McMurphy) they all experienced either significantly more joy or were at least devoted participants in their causes."

The real tradgedy is that he was in so many dog shit movies. Maybe that's why I didn't care for this movie as much as most seem to, the emotional impact really didn't hit me, probably because of how much apathy or in some cases disgust I have for most of the other movies these characters have been in.

The audience was dead silent while leaving the theater. So many teens just looking like zombies.

Yeah, the fucks got old and overused extremely quick. They could have made this a PG-13 movie and lost absolutely nothing from the story. I don't think the gore did all that much for for me.

Also, people actually walk out of movies cheering? What the hell?

No. If you know the basic story of the x men you know enough to not be lost at all.

I've seen one X-Men movie - X-Men. Haven't seen a single other. Really, never wanted to. Batman is my favorite superhero and the rest tend to suck IMO.

But Logan is an absolutely incredible movie. Everything about it is done well.

I may start watching the other Marvel movies now.

The other x-men and marvel movies are really nothing like Logan, IMO

FWIW I too didn't like this so did a little research and found a full scene was originally worked into the script but dropped later. Personally I'm glad they did as it would've diminished the specific story being told.

What I've learned from this movie, and countless other movies:

1) Don't buy a farmhouse. Ever.

2) If you didn't listen to number 1, or somehow inherited a farmhouse, never break bread with strangers.
