Trump siding with Moore is not surprising, at all. But I love Comey's subtle tweet about that!

Good read:

Trump responded with "MAGA" to a Washtington Post article explaining Trump's race baiting nonsense.

https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/933659179348299776?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fs9e.github.io%2Fiframe%2Ftwitter.min.html%23933659179348299776

So apparently Trump is claiming race baiting is what makes America great.

Interesting news to release on thanksgiving, but it's a huge bombshell (or ANOTHER one...).

Not looking good for Trump at all. With papadopoulus pleading, not Flynn seeking a deal that somehow would be a conflict of interest for Trump?? Nuts.

This maybe explains why Trump golfs so much and doesn't seem to take the job seriously. Also seems like all of Kelly's clamping down on Tweeting was thrown on the window the past few days.

2 big things I learned today.

#1 - Trump is using the tragedy in Egypt to push for a wall in Texas.

#2 - Trump's narcissism is so insane that he said "probably isn't good enough" when Time said he'll probably be person of the year again.

Middle school students making gun gestures at her with their hands, shouting "kill her", and defacing classroom walls and windows with racial and religious epithets and worse. Middle school?

Trump frustrated with Ivanka because she condemned Moore.

Today's nonsense is more of the same. I think the reason a lot of you disagree with my analysis, is because you are underestimating the value of having ~30% of the country in your pocket and keeping them super enthused. He has no legislative accomplishments but is using these "wins" as a way to keep all of them fired up.

Its extremely hard to lose when you start out at 39%. You might be assuming the other 56% are all going to vote the other way but it doesn't work that way. Of that 56%, a lot of them are Republicans who disapprove but will hold their nose and vote for him. He only needs about 5-10% from the disapprove to win the election. That math would mean that if 1 in 5 of the disapprovers are willing to vote for him like a roy moore supporter, he wins.

Also, negative elections muddy the waters and drain motivation, meaning less of that 56% votes because they end up focusing on the negatives of all candidates (divide and conquer) or voting 3rd party (like me). There has to be a better way to generate enthusiasm than "trump is bad and we are not trump". 39% positive will beat 56% negative to the polls any day.

My main point is that this needs to be combatted by generating enthusiasm FOR democrats instead of AGAINST Trump.

In an event to honor Navajo Code Talkers, Trump brings up Liz Warren and Pocahontas. Additionally they did this in front of a portrait of Andrew Jackson as the Native American Vets stood there.

LOL HOT TAKE THERE

people have been saying that for a year now, more than a year

In terms of the combined characteristics of being charismatic, intelligent, and having leadership skills, the field is soft across the board but particularly soft amongst the democrats.

GOP seems to be doubling down on Trumpism (essentially emotionally fueled racist rage to push an right-wing authoritarian agenda), the dems seem to be doubling down on pragmatic centrism, which doesn't excite people and is very corporatist, but possibly might win votes.

The DNC should be putting people like Bernie and Warren and Ellison front and center, but not in a way that alienates the mainstream democrats, i think.

It's pretty bizarre Trump is now trying to say that the tape of him was fake- especially considering he admitted to it and then claimed it was just "lockerroom" talk.

Methinks a bombshell regarding Flynn is about to drop, so he's preemptively claiming "fake news" now, to be able to triple down on all this conspiracy nonsense.

It's just so stupid though.

Trump's latest conspiracy? The 'Access Hollywood' tape was a fake!

http://www.cnn.com/2017/11/27/politics/donald-trump-access-hollywood-conspiracy/index.html

Quote :
""He sees the calls for Mr. Moore to step aside as a version of the response to the now-famous 'Access Hollywood' tape, in which he boasted about grabbing women's genitalia, and the flood of groping accusations against him that followed soon after. He suggested to a senator earlier this year that it was not authentic, and repeated that claim to an adviser more recently. (In the hours after it was revealed in October 2016, Mr. Trump acknowledged that the voice was his, and he apologized.)""

I was one of the few posters on here who was actually critical of Obama, and could clearly and fairly evaluate his policies. But I never criticized the amount of golf or vacation time he took. It's a stupid argument from either side. If you disagree with someone's politics, why would you complain if they were working less? Also, since when did all business stop on a golf course?

Who exactly do the Republicans have to fit this bill? The most intelligent thing any of them do is purposely present themselves as unintelligent, because appealing to idiots is the smart thing to do.

2 years ago I would have said Rubio, but then he tried to play Trump's game and looked like a fool doing it.

So to be clear, Trump is not a grand strategist or master manipulator (from a logical standpoint).

He is an irrational, arrogant person who says and does anything he can at any given moment to deflect negativity and project positivity.

80% of his nonsense is to deflect from Russia. 20% of his nonsense is to project his importance. 0% of his nonsense is geared towards actually accomplishing an agenda. He loves the idea of being a President. He has zero interest in governing.

His manipulation skills are more a happy accident rather than any actual talent.

Isn't self-preservation rational? I would love to hear why you think deflecting from russia is irrational.

It takes much more intelligence and strategy to sell air than to promote quality work. His legislative agenda doesn't have any details and never did and thats part of why he has to project importance and accomplishments in other ways.

Most politicians have been less effective at selling actual accomplishments than Trump is at selling nothing. That is what makes him a master manipulator. Its about the results.

His content disgusts me but his use of twitter to constantly project his message directly is absolutely genius and something that will be in history books for hundreds of years.

If self-preservation was his concern and he was a rational, intelligent person, he would never have put himself in the positions he has been in.

He's shooting from the hip every second of every day. He's an automaton and his programming is geared towards making himself feel adequate and important. Nothing deeper, longer-term or masterful and intelligent about that.

And now that the walls are closing in on him, he's grasping at straws blindly to delay it every second he can.

There is nothing intelligent about any of this. The guy is simply an accident of circumstance.
