Recounts generally favor the original winner and rarely swing the ballot count much. 5000 votes is a lot of votes to make up by betting on them being counted wrong.

well the police camera thing was supported by both parties, in fact more republicans voted against it

but on things like abortion and other issues, he gave moderate positions during the election and then reversed them. i think this was because he folded to pressure from his party and financial supporters, all of his language before was very moderate.
