Trump recovered from all of his outlandish remarks and actions. We should have actually seen his victory coming. I thought like most people and listened to the research and polls. But Trump did say he was winning, and turns out he was right.

Trump was running against one of the worst candidates the DNC could have picked. Guilty of anything malicious or not isn't even the issues, she was anchored by decades of political scandals. I think a lot of voters just needed an excuse not to vote for her, and she gave them plenty

McCrory was running against a competent opponent with a fairly clean record. He was the poster child for HB2, which was not only wildly unpopular, but also passed in one of the most detestable legislative ways. He could easily have kept HB2 and his job if he had played his cards right, but instead he made every mistake possible in dealing with it and is paying for it.

Clinton was pretty much the most flawed candidate the democrats could have nominated in this cycle. It was obvious from the beginning when she had problems dispatching a 74 year old socialist. Their was an obvious push for outsider candidates. The fact she colluded with the DNC to make sure she won only helped to paint her as the ultimate insider. People didn't vote for Trump they voted against Washington. That is why turnout was down so much, people tend to not get out to the polls when they are voting against something. People want to be inspired to vote for something and this election had none of that. That being said I swallowed my pride and ethics and voted for Hillary just for SCOTUS reasons. The Democrats really need to clean house at the DNC and wash away that Clinton taint or they will continue to bleed away the independent vote and have issues getting their base to the polls.
