Ozone does have a distinct smell, but I had PRK surgery back in 2003 and it definitely did not smell like ozone.

emce could probably tell you more but I think even somewhat severe astigmatism can be addressed with LASIK or other related processes now.

Correct. Nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism can be corrected, usually. From what I understand, theyre more concerned with adequate corneal thickness when assessing candidates.

The farsighted vision will be corrected for life. The near-sighted vision degrades with age, like normal. So, one day I'll still most likely need reading glasses to see things up close clearly

My cornea is halfway eaten through due to a nasty ulcer I got when I was 16. Had nothing to do with contacts either. Thing could have killed me if the bacteria ate all the way through. Real traumatic and shitty experience. Therefore they will not attempt lasik on my right eye.

I had a pretty bad experience with Lasik a couple of years ago. I described it in the lounge:

It was similar to Jay's story above, but mine had the bacteria from the surgery.
