The Hill has been guilty of some click bait in the Trump era but the weird Trump kid did says this. I think Don Jr. has also mentioned it.

Everything, EVERYTHING, is classified. These hearings are useless. No one can talk about anything except what we've already read in the news.

I wouldn't necessarily say useless. It keeps the pressure up and the public attention up. My biggest fear would be the public simply ceasing to pay attention and at that point the investigations falling apart.

The only really substantive one right now, though (to your point) is the actual FBI CI investigation. Until that comes to resolution, the public investigations won't really go anywhere.

Yates is pretty solid in this unmasking, leaks and travel ban hearing.

When is the Flynn/Russia hearing?

https://www.propublica.org/article/comeys-testimony-on-huma-abedin-forwarding-emails-was-inaccurate

Yea, I wasn't following some of Cruz's questions yesterday, now I see why. How can Comey make a verifiably inaccurate statement, and then the FBI can sit back and wonder aloud if "should we make a correction?" How is that even a question?

Fuck Comey

I mean that is pretty fucking shocking if true considering the reason he gave for writing the letter was that they had TONS of emails to sift through.

I generally think Comey is non-partisan and didn't have bad intentions throughout the HRC thing but that is sheer incompetence at best.

This whole situation scares me because I truthfully still believe he can run and is running a solid investigation right now. If he has to step down what happens?

So Putin's cock holster fired Comey. The question is now just what did Comey have on Trump that prompted this?

I agree any asshat Trump appoints is gonna be garbage, but at the same time, Comey was a big "meh."

This could be the biggest catalyst for an independent prosecutor yet. If so.....then good move Trump!

So I guess given the timing Trump fired Comey because Comey overstated Hilary's email scandal last Thursday? of the leaked email letter to congress 2 weeks before the election that swung it to Trump?!? Seems legit.

So obviously Trump is lying in his letter to Comey.

It would be against DoJ rules for him to offer up to Trump he isn't under investigation in the context of the investigations into his own campaign.

He cited two things that make absolutely no sense in his termination letter:

1) He fired him for not prosecuting Hillary (Trump said he wouldn't want her prosecuted anyway) and the decison not to was made months before the election.

2) He said Comey told him three times he wasn't under investigation. Except Comey testified to Congress he is.

Trump will be impeached.

Getting rid of trump hands the keys to Pence and Ryan.

But it discredits GOP ideology and paves the way for actual progressives. It gives people who actually believe in governance a chance to establish themselves over the loons mostly in power on the right now.

So. Is anyone going to discuss the subpoenas handed to Flynn's associates earlier today? What about the fact that yesterday we were all talking about Yates and the 18 days it took to fire Flynn, and now it's suddenly about Hillary's emails again? Is there going to be a missile strike tomorrow to distract us like a few weeks ago? Clearly, Comey is going to be murdered soon, if we're going to try and predict plot lines...

Who's talking about emails?

Trump put the spotlight on himself when he fired Comey. Trump is meeting with Russia tomorrow. AND subpoenas went out to Flynn guys today.

If there was an award for the absolute worst timing for trump to take these actions, this would be the all time winner.

If I didn't know trump was so dumb, it's almost like he's begging to be removed from office. Maybe subconsciously he's sabotaging himself. Politico is reporting senior Whitehouse staff didn't know about the firing. It was trump, sessions, and the deputy AG. Even Burr came out and said it looks bad.

I expect everyone here and any decent person to call their representatives to get a special prosecutor appointed.

Plenty of people are talking about Hillary's emails (AGAIN), which just go to show who Trump panders to and why he "won" the election.

And no, I don't think Trump is deliberately trying to sabotage his presidency anymore than when he was deliberately trying to sabotage his campaign. Quite simply, he's far more stupid than most people ever imagined, which is precisely why so many people are doubling down on their devotion to him at the moment.

The right's reaction to this whole thing is to blame liberals and call them flip floppers, when plenty of Dems, myself included, never liked Comey to begin with and felt he should have been fired long before Trump was ever elected. Even the possibility of Hillary getting indicted is making some really delusional folks pretty giddy right now...

Well that's the understatement of the year.

They (and I do think it is several people in the administration that know everything) could not look more guilty right now. How ham-fisted, completely unsavvy, and tone-deaf can one group of people be? Subpoenas are about to drop, hmm, better fire the lead investigator......durrrrrrrr.

This seems like so much work to cover up some business that he might have done with Russian interests prior to the election.

Unless you really believe he was in bed with Russia to somehow sway the election, what is it that Trump is trying so hard to cover up? I mean do you people really want Pence as a president? Kiss Roe v Wade goodbye if that is the case, at the very least.

I think it just hurts his ego when someone goes against him.

This is primarily about Brexit, but has some relevant information about the billionaires supporting trump who are interested in a new world order and how they are making that happen

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2017/feb/26/us-billionaire-mercer-helped-back-brexit

SCL Group has been linked to Alfa Bank, the company that had the server communicating with trump towers, which is also connected to the firm that the RNC paid to get intel on Clinton

^ it's practically confirmed that Flynn was negotiating with Russia on behalf of trump campaign, which isn't itself illegal. The question is whether the hacks were part of that negotiation which is horribly illegal. Trump is trying to frame things like he had no idea and make Flynn the fall guy.

Of course though this has literally been trumps tactic in handling his misdeeds since the 70s, he forcefully denies anything as early and as long as possible. If anything indicates trump is guilty it's how strong he's insisting he's not guilty.

But there's other illegal things... did Giuliani illegally get the FBI to interfere with the Clinton email investigation at the behest of trump? A special prosecutor should have been appointed a long time ago. This drags out the timeline for any action though, probably going to be a year before we see the legal outcomes of all this.

Trump is already outsourcing every court pick (SCOTUS and lower) pick to the Heritage Foundation. What more could Pence do? The only thing Trump has followed through on is LBGTQ protection, which I have given him credit for.

^^^^yes

I genuinely believe that there is a (pretty large) group of insanely rich people that are highly interested in the "Russification" of the west. That is creating oligarchies, blending government and corporate power, creating a tiered justice system, etc. I really do think this could be more sinister than just Trump and Putin's shitty plans.

To add, there has been a ton of speculation that Cambridge Analytica, data mining arm of SCL group and funded by Mercers, was providing voter data to Russian intelligence for their targeted social media and "fake news" campaigns for brexit, the trump campaign, and the French election. I'm not sure that's illegal, but it's highly concerning.

how?

by signing a religious freedom executive order and recending Title IX protections?

Maybe it's him playing the media a bit but I have read most of his inner circle was pushing for a far more sweeping "religious freedom" EO and he tamped it down to be essentially meaningless.

Here's a video of Tillerson and Russias foreign minister mocking America, together, this morning. It's pretty clear they were in the back room making fun of the chaos Trump is sowing.

Pretty strong evidence for the "Russification" hypothesis here.

Trump's doctrine seems to be that the world should be ruled by wealthy businessmen without regards for constitutions or democracy.
